Brentford and Southend as I remember. Looking forward to watching a few Brentford and Watford pensioners trying to relive their youth by knocking each other's false teeth out on Friday night
That Sam Ucko dweeb is polishing off his Aquascutum trench coat as we speak. And will soon be polishing his plonker afterwards on Twitter about how much of a privilege it was to just be in the same venue as Thomas Frank.
Personally I can't believe our players are going to be on the same pitch as the likes of Charlie Gooch and Ricky Henry. So jealous of them.
Heres another life size image of the stadium, this time pictured with the architect, Simon aged 7 1/4. You can just make out Franck and Toney standing on the semi circle.
I absolutely hate them, but only because we are a big, established, Premier League club and they are uppity nonentites from some squalid estate in Middlesex. I wish they could be replaced by a proper, club, like Derby or Sheff Wed, with a history and some real excitement. Playing these feels like we are being cheated. Hope we smash them and send them on their way to relegation.
Apparently Dean Gaffney supports Brentford and he’s their most famous fan, tells you everything you need to know. A true shart stain on the gusset of the greatest league in the world TM
Very rarely comment on here, but had to after seeing how rattled the brentford fans are ..surely they must realise most of what is written in here is tongue in cheek Its highly amusing seeing how upset they are
A hilarious thread running through the Brentford forum is how nondescript and unimportant the town of Watford is. Does anybody actually know where Brentford is? I mean, I know where the ground is, obvs, but the actual 'town'? It seems to me that if you were asked where any location in Brentford is, you'd give another answer. New ground - Kew, maybe Chiswick. Griffin Park - Kew, Gunnersbury. Osterley, Southall, Isleworth, Hounslow, Heston, Hanwell - all far more likely to be given as an address than Brentford. Brentford - the town that wasn't there.
Yes, indeed! Well done for the upload. So I was confusing 2 successive promotion years - the 3-0 Monday night was 4th Div 77-78 and Whistlegate was the 3-3 in 3rd Div 78-79. I knew either was possible since Brentford went up with us from 4th to 3rd Divs ...... Looking at team sheet - and re 'Blast from the Past' players and moments ..... Ray Train - 95th minute equalizer home to Mansfield (1-1) in the Div 3 year, rifled in to bottom corner from 20 yards out - oh the memories !!!
Apparently, they are better than us because their matchday thread is a proper one with score predictions and team selections. Oh well. Stilton Edam Roquefort Morbier StBishop Manchego (c) Jaarlsberg Chaumes Pecorino Cantal Leicester R. Petril 0, Cheeze 3 (Cantal 22, 44(pen) Chaumes 78)
Impeccable formatting of your team lineup there sir! Just the sort of thing this forum could do with more of.
Imagine going to the trouble of building a new ground and only bothering to put 17k seats in. Tinpot in the extreme
Fantastic programme, but imagine if your most famous fans were actually fictional characters, compared to us having one of the most famous musicians of all time as a fan. Pathetic.
Clubs always show their true levels of tinpotery with the amount and the standard of their trolls. We only got a rise out of City because they’re an artificial big club. We’re a complete irrelevance to any club with an ounce of substance.
