Despite all the cynicism on here, trust me i get it, a few of us setting off early doors tomorrow and looking forward to a good day out. Hopefully a decent turnout/atmosphere and if the team turn up, even better
Come on you Orrrrrrnnnnnssssss! Obviously I’m talking about my u6 team as we kick off at 9:30am (3:30pm UK time). So thankfully I will be completely distracted as I coach the team, and watch my sons put a smile on my face as they fly in with Vinnie Jones style tackles. Definitely a proud dad to watch my boys play with passion, heart, desire and fight. Something our players know nothing about.
I’m at a wedding, thank god. I remember I was at a wedding when we beat West Ham 4-2, but also when we lost by 8 to City. Make of that what you will. I think at least when we beat West Ham I still cared.
I watched ITV last night. There's a new game,it looks a little like football but the players pass forward quickly and stay vertical rather than hurling themselves to the turf or wasting endless amounts of time. I doubt it'll catch on but it would exciting if we gave it a go! Enjoy every sandwich!
I guess Sunday was just a aberration then ! We seemed to do ok then .. More of that would be nice but then that was on TV . We only seem to win when the cameras are on us .
Stoke are two points off relegation though. Any top half team seems to easily have the measure of us and we only pick up the odd result here and there by one goal.
I envy the way you still get pleasure from WFC. For me it's an utterly joyless and abusive relationship.
Fair point and kind of gave up at 2-0. Blackpool are struggling a bit so certainly a game where we need to be on the front foot if possible.
That’s not really how football works though is it, we beat Liverpool 3-0 so maybe we should’ve won the league that year. The league table, funnily enough, is the best guide to how good a team is. Stoke are not very good, Swansea are a lot better, our respective performances against both teams reflected that. Of course you’ll still get aberrations along the way, but in the main we’ll do better against the poor teams and worse agains the better teams.
I was at a wedding the day of the 8-0 at Citeh. The service was still going on at kick off time, then with the photos etc, we didn't get on the coach taking us to the reception out in the sticks until 3.25...imagine my joy when looking at my phone to see we were only 5-0 down. Especially as the groom is a Gooner.
Which is ironic because, Boro aside, who should be higher, Stoke are the only '****' team we've beaten!
Gosling spent the first 1/3 of his career as a RB. Obviously it’s not ideal but it’s the most obvious answer. Which is why we won’t do it.
I’d genuinely go with a back 4 of: Gosling (RB) WTE (CB) Pollock (CB)* Kamara (LB) *Providing Sierralta is out obviously I don’t want Kabasele anywhere near this team ever again. Couldn’t care less if he’s fit or not). I’d then tell Choudhury to sit in front of them and barely go over the halfway line. Louza and Asprilla in front of him.
Queuing to buy a sandwich in Simmons (or is it Simmonds?) there was a little lad in WFC kit. Poor lad I thought. Then the radio played "Benny and the Jets" and a glimmer of hope entered my soul. "You stupid woman!"
We could do with one of those to run around the midfield, barring that a small Croatian could Modri* would suffice.
I’m going to be positive the manager has had a few more days to explain the idea behind football and to explain the yes I do want you to play out from the back , but when nobody is near you don’t pass to the opposition they are not you friend , hoof it up field you dumb **** blackpool 0 Watford 3 Sarr, bayo and louza to score
Over to Chesham this morning for my daughter's U15 game, which was a classic Watford performance. Scored first minute and then switched off and were totally complacent. Gave away a stupid penalty and then half the team just walked round and bottled out of tackles. Ended up losing 5-1. Had to sub a couple of our nutters off before they got a red.
We could certainly do with one of those medical devices that look like a Clipper lighter/fancy Art Deco salt cellar.
