The oompah tent in the Munich Beer Hall Putsch of 1923 got a bit rowdy .

Ozric Tentacles takes me back, far too back but was enjoyable. My early 90's were so fooked up.

There was fighting with right wing lumpen elements in the last 2 sets. Even fighting on the stage during the redskins.

As for mention of Bad Manners, at that time that Buster Bloodvessel bloke from that group used to drink in Gaz's Rockin Blues in Dean Street when I went there a lot.

The Latino festivals around London were always good - at one of those I met the only person on this board who has seen me in person, along with his charming Señora @Otter.

One time we went to a festival in Cheltenham to see Candido Fabré. Only to see him. It was in the company of several Latina ladies who were very much looking forward to dancing with Fabré.

When we got to the gate, there were signs up: 'Candido Fabre - Cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances'.

The muchachas flipped. They explained his flight over had been delayed, but no explanation would serve for them. They shouted and cried and waved their arms. They wanted to dance with Fabrè. The manager fella got a massive and long ear battering from the frustrated Latinas and one even ripped her ticket up in front of him and threw the bits at him.

It made no difference. Despite everything, they still wouldn't put Fabré on. We decided we might as well go in anyway, so the Chica who had ripped up her ticket gathered the pieces up and we taped it back together and went in. As it goes they really enjoyed themselves. There was some Spanish group like the gypsy Kings but more modern and they got their rocks off to them instead.

However the next day Fabré was appearing at some other festival in East London, so I had to drive them to that also. This time Candido did appear. Everyone danced and drank rum and went home properly sated.

Carnaval Del Pueblo was always a highlight on my calendar, when I first went in 2004 it was a decent size and got bigger and bigger every year, then it abruptly stopped, I think there were a few reasons, (a) it got too big and the event organisers had the headache of policing, security and insurance costs, (b) the Olympics and (c) it was always the same people running it and they found it difficult to get fresh volunteers.

In the meantime they ran a few smaller events but last summer it was back again but without the parade. I can't find details of whether it'll be running again this year but if it's the same weekend I'll miss it as I'll be away.
