You are right about the final but had I played I reckon I would have been the best player! I always find it difficut to comprehend how we are desperate for Lloyd to stay but Vydra can do one!
I totally agree he played very well. It's just people seem to think that's a good reason to play him when ever I mention I don't think he should. On this basis Abdi, Deeney and the rest of team except Almunia and Doyley should never play again
Not to disagree with both sides on this.... but tbh i still think Doyley has a large part to play in this seasons push for promotion. My point of view is that Doyley is still a very good defender and the only thing that lets him down from the others is that his range of passing is not as great as the other defenders in the team. But he should not be a cert... with the quality in the team now they should all be fighting like mad to make the first team, i just think Doyley will do it again and show why he keeps on coming back and starting most games.

Doyley was like Bambi on ice during his debut and has improved greatly every year since. He has had limited competition for his spot in the team for long periods. Now that he cannot be guaranteed a starting place I do not doubt, for one second, he can once again raise his game a notch or two to keep these bloody foreigners out of the team. You need better than average championship players to get out of the championship.. Sir LLoyd is now most definitely better than Championship average but would not cut the mus**** in t'Premiership albeit i would love to see him try. If one of these Carlos Kick a Balls turns out to be streets aheah of SLD then so be it. Assuming, with positive mental attitude that we gain promotion this year, SLD will be replaced with someone better that an hold his own against the attacking quality we will face in the top flight. Maybe he could replace Freddy West on radio?

The great thing about this squad is that they will all have to fight like mad to stay in the side. I actually think Doyley might start at Birmingham but only dUe to late arrivals and injuries but once everybody is fit I would think he might be down the pecking order a bit. Definitely not a wingback so center back it is. Belkalem Cassetti Ekstrand Nos Hoban Brown Angella and Lloyd. For this Saturday,as it stands Nos and Hoban are out injured and Belkalem has just arrived so that leaves Ekstrand and Angella who are nailed on to start plus one other from Casetti, Brown and Lloyd. Probably between Casetti and Lloyd but when everybody is fit I'm not sure he would above any of that lot. In fact I suspect Casetti might struggle to get in! I know he has proved people wrong time and again but the level some of these players are at makes it a completely different situation. Back on subject, has anybody see this guy play. He looks enormous but size isn't everything!!!
Belkalem confirmed as a WFC player on loan from Udinese according to Google,transfer market and Wiki.
Hopefully he ll get a runout tomorrow against Boreham Wood. I read an article written about him a year or 2 ago saying he was a very strong physical defender. Cant imagine The Pozzos would have signed him if he was nt technically good as well. Bearing in mind how suspect we looked against set pieces last season Id say he may get a good number of games.
Back to the thread, Granada have this evening annouced their squad of 26 for the coming season and Belkalem is not listed, contray to reports on a blog that he was going to Granada rather than WFC. Looks like false information or old news so I suggest we wait and see for confirmation that he has joined on loan or permanent as originally confirmed by Udinese and Nani.

Yesterday the same blog were saying he was going to Granada. Do think he'll end up here though now. Vibe I'm getting from this transfer is that although he was probably signed with us in mind the player was expecting/hoping to stay at Udinese. Must be disappointing to think you're signing for a Serie A club with prospect of playing in Europe and then end up at little old Watford.
If he is in London to tie up this deal I'm assuming there is a chance he may get a run out in the Boreham Wood friendly.

Didn't Nani say that belkalem was joining squad yesterday to fans, Heath Chester the Granada based journo from. The uk has said he knows nothing of belkalem and the Emmanuel bloke who has been spot on says that belkalem is in the uk.

Can't know for sure whether it was true but they were all linked in the last few months by various sources. Tipped to be a key figure in Udinese's defence in the future so possible this one could just be a loan, despite what was said about saving loans for domestic players.
youre right WT. I did a google on Belkalem and Lyon or Dortmund and there were plenty of articles to suggest the interest was more than passing from both clubs. Angella.....Belkalem.....Ekstrand.
