Done deal to QPR allegedly Hopefully they’re paying a big chunk of the wages but just having the bloke out of the building from now until the end of his contract is good enough for me
Freeing up a space in the squad is one thing, but it's only so useful if we don't free up enough in wages to actually make a serious attempt to sign some good players
I imagine that the ‘big chunk’ is still being paid by us, but even a little chunk, 20-30k per week is still better value than him not playing for us.
Yep, as I said in the other thread, I don't think it will make a whole lot of difference whether he stays or goes, but that million or so quid is better than nothing
Hopefully it's a medical because the deal is done, rather an a medical now in the hope a deal can be done before the window shuts.
Qpr always have been my second favourite club. Even more so now. Might get a half and half scarf in celebration Come on u R Orns!!!!!!
I always stick up for AL, but he needs to cut out the speculation, or make it more obvious it’s his opinion. He posts loads of good inside stuff, but how much is reliable and how much is just opinion? When he writes something like he has about Gray then a couple of hours later he goes to QPR it undermines his credibility.
I wonder how much of it is the club / agents trying leaking stories to pressure the other side in negotiations.
I always work on the assumption anything AL says is what the club want to put out, rather then any sort of reality.
As much of a dud that I think Gray now is, it’s a smart move to go to QPR. They seem to be at the beginnings of something good there and Warburton got a tune out of Gray at Brentford.
I still have total confidence in the reliability of what AL writes. For example, he wrote - just over three hours before the Tottenham game - "No Kucka today as I understand it" in the match thread on the Athletic.
Kucka should have retired a Hornets legend straight after the Villa game. In fact it's possible he did.
Presume we goes on a free at end of this years loan. been a shocking £18m with no value clawed back at end of it
Gray played under Warburton at Brentford where he had a very fruitful spell in his career. I’d imagine that this is the main draw to QPR and with them pushing for play-offs/automatic this year if they believe can get Gray firing again then it’s money well spent. However, I truly hope this is a permanent deal as i believe Gray is by far the worst transfer Watford have ever made. Money and quality wise Gray is a bad a striker as Sema is left footed
