On loan 'till the end of the season from FC Skonto Riga. Left-sided winger. http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~1542115,00.html
From Wikipedia Aleksandrs Cauņa, 21, is a football midfielder from Latvia. His current club is Skonto FC. In 2006 he was the best youth player of Latvian championship (The second was Pavels Surnins from FK Liepājas Metalurgs). Aleksandrs Cauņa played only half of season.

He was on trial at Chelsea so presumably Rodgers was impressed. Contrast with Aidy's foreign buys who I suspect he'd never seen play.
Was at Chelsea in the past...that is a surprise! At least Rodgers will know what he is like I guess... Hopefully not just another one of those unknowns from overseas that we never actually see play!
Never heard of him...guess we need cover on the left since Ainsworth left. I have faith he isn't a Sietes signing
Good signing .Hope is settles quickly though. Has real ability on the ball and has been linked with a move away from Skonto this season. Here is my PES6 face for him:
These are the three that were firmly interested Drew: Blackburn,Catania and Wolfsburg. Middling clubs in their own leagues looking for a technical player at a lower price. He has a lot of potential so not a bad bit of business.
What match of his were you particularly impressed with and were there any of his team mates that also stood out in said game? Does Eurosport show many Skonto Riga games?
Just found this. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_4625613,00.html "Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers are unlikely to follow up their interest in Egyptian winger Ahmed Al-Muhammadi or Norwegian centre back Tore Reginiussen, but are running the rule over Latvian Aleksandrs Cauna."
He's the new Latvian Messi. I've seen only small clips of him in the Euro u20 and the odd UEFA game for Skonto and he has good technical skills. Smith paced of his younger years. And if you keep an eye on things you see what clubs are doing what. As a PES modder I have online colleagues in those countries ie a chap called suchthefool who I asked re Cauna. After all I did recommend Williamson in early December as a defensive target and if Aidy had listened perhaps Stoch might have been here in the summer. All this cynicism and derision. : :naughty:
Aleksandrs Cauna His wife works at a sauna, His dad lives on the corner, His names spelled wrong, He hates this song, Aleksandrs Cauna
See close at the bottom of the article it says check back before the close of the transfer window for other possible signings.. Was this up before the Cowie article

Is it with a viewto a permenent? Cauna joins the hornets on a temporary move in a bid to impress the boss Brendan Rodgers and earn a permanent deal at Vicarage Road
