Did not expect him back at all. Was pretty sure it was already dead in the water after a few weeks into the window. Great to have him back, not sure if he fits the defensive midfielder role that Capoue and Behrami have but I don't give a f*** about that at this moment
The suit is a bit different from the usual clown clobber worn by footballers, classy classy bloke classy attitude tbf
Quite! Three things to like; 1- He's back- welcome AG! 2- The smile! 3- As mentioned previously,he's wearing a suit and tie!
There's an interview with him on Hornet's Player. He's literally ecstatic. Trained with Palace this morning and then floated towards London Colney in the hope of getting the deal over the line. Reading between the lines it was clearly not a done deal even then. Says his heart has been at Vicarage Road since last season and although his body was with Palace he always wanted to come back here. Said he'd never had so many offers as he had this summer but basically rejected them all because he only wanted to sign for Watford. Has watched all of our games so far supporting the team and has been in touch with the players. Named Troy, Gomes and Ighalo as key figures. Oh and he finished the interview by quoting Einstein.
This might be the signing that truly galvanises the squad and get's us motoring. Can't wait til Swansea to properly welcome him back. COYH's!
What a bloke he is, truly. Once again thanks to Gino and the lads for turning the club into a place that can attract these types of players actually make them fall in love with the club. Maybe they slip something in the soup?
Is there anyway he could show more class? Wants to leave, but stays professional and still trains. Turns down offers to follow his heart. Turns up in a suit. Supports and follows the team. Quotes Einstein.... What next? He's in town buying food for the homeless?
This is a real boost. This is like the return of HH, except he's in his prime. I needed this. I was sad and now I'm not. Welcome Adlene.
From what WD Sport say it sounds like Gino was always going to sign Pep regardless of any other circumstances. It was just one huge game of brinkmanship with Parish, which Gino won of course. Pretty stressful for everyone, especially Pep. Nicely done though. http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2015/09/guedioura-it-is-something-special-to-come-back-to-watford/
Well the midfield will have plenty of drive now when needed and vital support to the front when required. With his energy, commitment and no little quality he can do a job along with Behrami and Capoue. No wonder he is captain of his national team as well. More and more experienced internationals at the Vic is a great thing especially in the midfield. Apart from Troy the presumed starting eleven are all full internationals. And how he was overlooked behind Vardy is rather disappointing. Hopefully he also proves a point to Woy this season.
So much love for this guy, he really gets Watford, adores the club and the club adores him Will be a shame to see him go when the loan window reopens
My afternoon after hearing about AG
What a man. Looks so unbelievably happy to be here and the feeling is undoubtedly reciprocated by the fans. It's so refreshing to see such a talented guy who wants to play for our little club so much. I do remember him playing against us for Forest a few years back and standing out as the best player on the park. I love Fessi and I'm still gutted he's left, but I'm happy we now have another player who's so explicit in his admiration of our club. The one bad thing that comes out of this is that he is no longer wearing the number 5. Was always nice to think of him as our very own version of Zidane.
What a great interview on HP, and what a professional. I have no doubt his influence both on and off the pitch will be vital in any success that we have this season. Absolutely brilliant to have you back, and on a permanent deal. Welcome back Adlene!! :badge:
The bloke was almost in tears on HP, you can see his genuine joy at being back. Can't wait for Swansea, and hope he gets on the pitch in some shape or form for an outstanding reception. Proper fans player.
Even with all the big names & big talent we've signed in the window, this is the transfer that brings me most joy.
Little one's casts on broken wrists finally came off this afternoon and, on my return from hospital, learnt the news of this signing. What a great day.
Likewise. Interestingly Mr HH, who is not a Watford fan but really knows his football, thinks this is a brilliant bit of business by us too.
