12m Euro ?? As long as 11m is dependent on qualifying for the champions league this season, seems reasonable to me.

 

In January he was linked with Chelsea and valued at £4m. Transfermarkt has him at £3.2m (change probably because of the devaluation of the euro). Where has he got 12m € from??

He comes from the famous Rennes academy and I saw him play against Monaco last year, where he was pretty good and showed his quality.

He would be a great signing for us and would take up the Ben Watson's place in the squad. He is quite like Capoue (which is necessary as currently we have no replacement for him), although with better stamina and a greater goal threat. At 22, he is a classic Pozzo-like signing.

 

He's foreign, so I'm in. That's another for the chop, then.

 

Maybe he had a great end to the season? Can't say I've heard of him but it's rare I watch French football (especially now Bielsa has gone).

 

He's the cousin of a world 110metre hurdles champion, so definitely has the pace for a counter attack.

Sounds like he would be an excellent buy and allow us to be a bit less conservative than sticking to Behrami and Capoue the whole time.

Okay, I do actually understand that it is the case - but I've watched a youtube vid of him as well and he does have a very good stride.

Ok based on quickly watching some youtube videos I have to say this guy could be just what we need. Looks like he plays off the lone striker, makes runs beyond the striker, he's powerful and quick and he chips in with goals. We all love Ighalo but he doesn't always help link the midfield and attack which he has to do in his role.

 

It's a no from me, we already have a French player, lets go for a different nationality. We really need an Oriental such as a North Korean

If there is substance to this, and considering the importance Quique has seemed to put on wing play and putting balls in from the side so far, could this mean that we're at least recruiting for the possibility of switching to 4-3-3-?

Not necessarily as a replacement for the current 4-2-3-1, and without making any comment on it one way or another (I don't see how you can play many other formations in the Prem without being overrun...), from what I seem to understand about Doucoure, which is admittedly not the most of any player, he is an attacking box to box midfielder and might be best suited in something like the attacking tip of a midfield trident in a 4-3-3, ahead of the back line of Capoue and Behrami?

Might help link play, create chances and have runners going past the Troidini if so, at least as an option to switch between within matches/dependent upon the opposition.
