There's nothing wrong with the company as a whole, they are convenient if you need stuff now, as long as they can be bothered to sere you. Order it online lbh and if it's before 15:00 they can deliver next day.

Yup, that’s what I think I will end up doing. It’s just a pain in the backside, I don’t like grown up stuff like this. I prefer to spend my hard earned pennies on beer and boobies.

Been thinking about getting myself some. How much did you pay for yours? Were they built for speed or comfort?

Needless to say Curry's nominated courier was unable to find the delivery address despite two attempts and no phone calls to me.

I'm in self imposed exile now as anything further I may write will certainly be taken as offensive.

I'm just concerned Meister that you are spending a lot of time in Ruislip Manor, South Ruislip and even spreading yourself out towards Eastcote. The area is infiltrated with QPR things.
    Are you OK ?

20mins to go and the tablet will officially be over a day late.

Time to cancel the order and pick it up from John Lewis tomorrow I think.

This is why I arranged for delivery at work. I don't mind paying extra for a Saturday delivery if they can specify a reasonable time slot but I;m not waiting in all day for someone to not turn up.

Cancellation requested. Lets see what happens.

    The 32Gb sony one.

    A small update.

Still no response from the courier company
No response from my cancellation request to Currys yesterday, not even an automated acknowledgement.
I called Currys this lunch time to find out what's going on. They will call the courier to arrange return from the depot to them and then call me back.
    That was an hour ago.

You can't tell me that you stumbled across the above by accident. You've been considering it also, haven't you? PM me, maybe we can discuss the options in private.

Ask to see the manager, not the sales person, give him ****e in front of customers, try not to swear though, they'll bend over backwards to get rid off you ;) I bought a hifi just before xmas and waited 20 minutes for it to be given to me after I had paid for it, so I threw a strop and got £50.00 cash back, I won't be going back anytime soon though.

Comet were the lucky recipient of my £200 today, though they can't deliver until next Monday which is a pain and all they will tell me is between 8-6.

Tablet on the way back to currys from Boringwood depot. I would assume a refund to my credit card by the weekend and I can go shopping.

It won't, the inventory runs the transaction, goods back into stock, credit to credit card, credit to customer.

I stand corrected. I'm praying I don't have this same faffing about with my washing machine on Monday.

Ah, that must be Yodel. They lost some of my stuff before Christmas at Boringwood. Said they'd tried to deliver it (left no card), changed the data on their tracking records a week later to try to cover their 4rses, then sent the parcel back to sender! Got an apology 2 weeks after I'd cancelled the order saying they couldn't find my parcel! Here's a glowing report:

    Indeed.

I've done a lot of research into these people recently and certainly won't we purchasing from any company that uses them again. I've been regularly pdff ign their on-line tracking so that when it mysteriously disappears I've still got proof. Having previously worked within a busy service department that dealt with a succession of poor couriers I have learned.

Current status in Lincoln although how it managed to leave the depot twice is anyones guess.

My nan has been charged £38 by Yodel (and their phone service) to deliver a Sim Card that hasn't been delivered.

Got a nasty feeling they will try and charge for delivery. I will not be best pleased

20 minutes prodding at the laptops in John Lewis this morning provided no assistance. Now this supprised me. Wandered into the sony centre and am now typing on my new tablet.
Hopefully Currys will come through with a refund.

I always find the girls are prettier in JL, but between all the assistants they still aren't particularly bright. Same with Debenhams.

    I'll go one better.

Whilst we were away we had a package delivered. Unfortunately, they decided to leave it in the "middle recycling box." Since then, the binmen have been and we've just picked the card up from the front doormat telling us that 2 weeks ago the binmen took away our brand new iron and chucked it in some landfill.

    Don't do it.

I bought a washing machine from Curries for my new flat a few years ago. We had a van for moving so took it right out of the store, rather than wait for delivery, plus with moving, packing etc, we had a build up of laundry and wanted it right away.

Once we got it home and my wife and I managed to get it up the stairs to the flat and plumb it in, I found out it was defective, as it was leaking water out of the internal connections.

When I told Curries about this, and asked for exchange, they told me it would need an engineer to come out and verify the fault, before they could exchange it. The earliest they could send someone was two weeks later and then, that would only begin the process of getting a new machine delivered and the old one collected.

I was furious. Having spent £450 for a machine I needed and finding out I was going to have to wait 3-4 weeks for their systems to kick in and allow me to use it. What's more, when I called to complain, the **** on the line hung up, because I was insistent about speaking to a higher up to get the process speeded up.

I will NEVER give curries another penny of my money and would urge others to avoid them like the plague.

Another story from Dixons (same people) was a TV I bought there was broken. I took it in for repair, got it back and was told it was £45 repair costs. Fair enough. When I got it home, I found out it wasn't repaired, but that they'd charged me £45 for looking at it and finding out it couldn't be repaired. They didn't tell me this when they gave me the TV back in the shop. It was deceitful and unfair. It took me 15 years to let that one go and to give the company another chance, but that was where the washing machine debacle above starts.

Ordered a suitcase from Debenhams, got it delivered, didn't like it, ordered another one, they came and delivered the new one, collected the old one and refunded my money for the unwanted case.

Wasn't rocket science, but it's almost amazing when these things work out.

As for the courier company who binned my iron - was Yodel. I'd never heard of them before. Seems they have form for this sort of idiocy.

I didn't do it. Comet offered the same machine for £20 less and also didn't charge for delivery, so they won the battle to get my pennies.

Yodel are a terrible company whose reputation was torn to shreds over Christmas. I will be amazed if they remain in business in what is already a cut throat industry.

Full marks to Comet. I got a call this morning at about ten telling me they would be an hour or so, and just after 11 they rocked up. They've taken my old heap away and delivered my sparkly new one.

I didn't pay for the installation though and done as they charge £20 for that. It was a fiddly little fooker to put it but sorted in the end.

    Thumbs up from me.

    Now that's customer service

Perhaps some of these companies don't realise it, but when they treat customers like dirt then we tell others in places like this. From what I've read on here alone I'll never buy from Curries as long as they're in business.
