Hated by the whole Football League.
The main feeder club for the Italian National team.
The cause of Ian Holloways early retirement from football because 'it just ain't roight'.
Supported by 34,000 fans week in week out that don't sing and are made of plastic.
Still waiting to hear if Matej Vydra or Tommy Smith will be re-joining.
Lost our identity but loving every minute of it.

Seriously, I realise that these things are possible, but when you read a thread with Watford fans debating whether or not we're going to be realistically pushing for a CL place, you can see why fans of other clubs think we're ****s.

Lesser teams don't win the Europa league.

Exactly. Teams like Spurs and Liverpool spend millions and still don't make it. Somehow the greatest scouting network in the world is going to get us there. The top of the English leagues has never been so far out of reach.

Swansea & Wigan. Europa League. Nufffffff said.

People aren't debating whether we can make it, they are dreaming :)

My point was people can dream - Swansea and Wigan making the Europa league was a RIDICULOUS scenario 10 years ago - So suggesting Watford in CL might sound RIDICULOUS, but it can happen :)

Honestly, I don't really care where we are as long as the football is entertaining and the club is financially secure.

All this CL and Europa league talk is complete arrogant BS.

And even even it were reality UEFA law 147, clause 13, sub section 2 states that any clubs owned by the same person, group, family or company cannot compete in the same European competition.

Effectively the Pozzos would have to choose their favourite child. And it isn't going to be the tattooed, lager drinking one who has an unhealthy liking for yellow now is it.

I expect us to be challenging for the World Cup in Qatar.

We'd have won the league 4 times, Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar will be starting for us.

Doyley is still in the starting line-up.

We aren't owned by the same person, group or family. We're owned by two separate owners, not by the family as an entity.

I think the World Cup in Catarrh is a more realistic goal.

This will depend on if it's in the summer or the winter. I can't imagine any of the foreigners being able to cope with a cold wet night in Doha

I stand corrected however I wouldn't like to challenge the tenuous position of our ownership against UEFA law 147, clause 16.1A pertaining to constitution of ownership.

In 5 years time I'd hope we'd have had 4 years in the Premier League, with the last two finishing 9-14th, with top 8 being the aim for the coming year.

Well Swansea have shown what can be done with astute leadership from the boardroom, shrewd signings and a playing philosophy on the pitch. We could and perhaps should barring any unfortunate circumstances progress from strength to strength.

The Academy surely will be a cornerstone of that. As we all hope, our rise into the Premiership will allows us to bring in a higher level of junior player and no doubt we will see more Armenekas types arriving as well.

I would like to think that by then, Watford will have just edged China out as the world's no. 1 economic superpower.

No reason at all why we can't be a sustainable, top 10 Prem club in a few years. If a few people that I don't care about think I'm a d*ck for having that opinion, so be it.

We're still a small club. But with big ambitions.

And within 2 years of Qatar I will be happy with nothing less than back-to-back ashes victories, all the golds in the track and field at the next olympics and silver or bronze on the synchronised swimming team event.

And after that we should invade a militarily inferior medium sized middle-eastern republic and blame it on someone else.

    5-7 year plan

Realistically though, there is no reason why we wont become an upper mid EPL team with gates of 22/25 k. Similar situation to Bolton , Blackburn ( when they were in EPL) or West Brom, Swansea etc.

That may involve a league cup win and a little European venture too.

Having said that , with the extent of the Pozzos scouting network and with EPL funds behind us, going to the next level beyond that is not unrealistic. Not top 4/5 but maybe the little group below that...on a good season.

I would dearly love to finish above Arsenhole.

If it was above Tottenham Wetspurts as well, then that would be doubly delish.

Reids will have just started a new gambling thread in the "General Banter" section, which has by this point acquired an alternative alias, with the thread entitled "£10 to £100,000" in 365 days - all profits toward buying back Tommy Smith/Matej Vydra".
