. Personally, I think our CB's are good enough, Even last season, I would say that they looked pretty comfortable for the majority of games. However, they are not perfect and what faults they have were overly exposed last season due to our horrendous "sitting back" most games due to our toothless attack encouraging onslaughts by the opposition . I reckon this wont happen this season as we carry a threat going forward and our defence will cope. But there are three issues that need sorting. Prodl has to stop this habit of backing away every time he has a forward coming at him, and several of them need to stop turning their back on a shooting attacker and marking from set pieces needs to be sorted out.
Amrabat has been removed from our squad list on the Premier League website but Zarate hasn't been added. The transfer window in Argentina doesn't close until later this month so he could be heading back to Velez, unless the club are still awaiting confirmation that he can be included in the 25.
Regarding our centre backs, the dream must surely be for Silva to find his preferred two and then hope injuries and lack of suspensions allow him to play the pair regularly to build up a good partnership. This has seemed something we've been unable (or unwilling) to do for a lot of the last few seasons. Already this season we've had Kaboul-Britos, Prodl-Britos and Kabasele-Prodl Hopefully soon we can find and keep what he thinks is our best combination.
Zarate has been added to our 25 man squad. Everyone can stop whittling about terrible management now.
Pleased about this. I'd have been disappointed if we wouldn't see him again until January. The guy has bags of skill and looked like a good acquisition in the few games he featured in after joining before picking up the injury.
Me too. It's going to feel like another new signing, a bit like Pereyra did on the opening day before getting injured again.
Hopefully not lost any pace or agility since the injury. Could be very useful for us anywhere in that 3 behind the main striker.
Given our other options have now improved and we aren't reliant on him, I'm pleased he has made the squad. Offers a different kind of player off the bench if he can get fully fit.
Pleased about Zarate. He's Argentine and doesn't want to be hear so will be easy to boo him if he's a bit crap.
Agreed. Just getting into his stride when clogged against Wet Spam. If he is fit Zarate is quality and improves the depth of our squad providing Silva with options up top. This guy more than any other (including Pereyra) is made to play in the hole behind the strikers. Will have a point to prove so hoping he makes up for lost time.
'Kabasele Prodl' works well to the tune of the 'Hokey cokey'. Oh the Kabasele Prodl, Oh the Kabasele Prodl Oh the Kabasele Prodl Back off, fall down ra ra ra...
I think you will find that typically the 'Hokey Cokey' is sung as the 'Hokeyoakeycokey' with extra or elongated syllables. If you went to the type of parties I do you would know this.

Interesting point of view. Personally, on balance I'd say Zarate can beat a man easier in tight spaces and Pereyra's through ball ability is enhanced in the middle of the pitch as he has more options to aim at. But I agree that Zarate would excel in the hole behind the strikers, and playing alongside Pereyra.
I keep drawing up 1st and 2nd team formations in my coffee breaks. It's a very good squad, isn't it! More importantly, the second string are probably expecting to be backup but always pushing the first team (Deeney/Okaka/Capoue might have something to say about that, mind...). Exciting times Sent from my G8141 using Tapatalk
Lots of attacking combinations and options now. Won't be so threadbare when injuries/ suspensions strike or when players lose form/ need a break. Last two seasons we got lucky but looks like we have strengthened the squad this time around and have more creativity.
