Super Bas - you have to give him respect - he is a bankrupt with no money and no backers - but he does have Bas's song.... but he has bought a PLC with estimated 10m turnover de-listed the plc to private ltd company status all done in a nominees name and a solicitor working from a house..... I think the bloke is a genious and with that done - i am confident he will take us a long way:sign15: Any of you lot over 35 years old could have done the same, after all many of you probably have some equity in your house unlike BBB, Know loads of people with savings and a lot of dosh as you are all successful and have never been bankrupt, you all seem to have great business minds as you know how to run the club as you keep telling the board of directors often enough and also you could save dosh on a manager, a goalkeeping coach and a number two because you all know so much more than those people in those roles that they would not be required.... But still none of you did this - so sit down shut up, sit down shut up....:sign15::drinking: YOU ORNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
True.... darave8 he won the Youth Cup with Manchester United. He is a box to box midfielder who has also played across the width of midfield and at fullback for their reserves and youth sides. He has a great engine and is tireless. Not afraid to win the ball and is a decent enough passer. Has a powerful shot and loves to get into the box a la Robson.
I don't understand what that proves? I was asking cthulhu if he knew something that we didn't regarding Bas having any backers. If you choose to call me up on that and imply something then I think you should explain what you meant to be honest.
OK, firm bids now received from QPR (£2.5mn), WBA (£2.5mn) and Swansea (£3mn according to the Mail). Apparently Newcastle are also monitoring the situation. There is no doubt that Danny will be gone but can we get more than £4 million? At that price we have to take the money with only one year left on his contract - I think that would be a fair price. Views?
OK, if you're not saying how you know, fair enough. But presumably if you do know, you will also know how he managed to amass the £5m more or less that has already gone into the club (amassed since being bankrupt 3 years ago, and not coming up on any google search in the period since), or if it is not his, who he persuaded to lend it to him (you know, the recent bankrupt with a string of failed businesses? bet he's got a triple A credit rating)
Good. I've been impressed with Bassini's handling of the situation so far. Tell them to come back with a proper offer, rather than these mickey mouse offers we've received so far.
Swansea seem to think he has a 3 million clause and the Beeb reckon we are thinking about the offer: http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/swans/swansnews/Hello/article-3624049-detail/article.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13635099.stm
Well plenty thought there was a £2.5m clause too, lets hope they're all wrong and these reports of the bid being declined are confirmed.
If Watford agree to anything less than £5m at this stage of the transfer window, they ought to be shot. His scoring record is far better than anyone else in the Championship when the quality of the rest of the team is considered - a young & inexperienced squad, with pretty mediocre strike partners. He has been fantastic this season. Then, when you take into account his effort, his general contribution and his attitude and his proven ability over of the last few seasons, £5m should be a starting point, when considered alongside CMS and the Millwall lad. Give it a month or two, when other fans start showing their frustration at lack of signings and a goalscorer, etc and I think we'll get more. Keep your nerve Watford. If we need money very quickly, sell Loach instead.
While I agree, it is very difficult. We need the money and as a result teams won't pay his market value. Perhaps we will get 5 mill, but it is more likely to be around were we are now or 4 mill. Would I take 4 mill and perhaps 200k after 5 goals and 10% sell on fee? Yes.
