Great loan. Nice and high up, and Doncaster fans seem to think he could get a fair bit of game time. First good bit of U23 management I've seen from the club in ages.
Yeah he was released by Pompey so can't be much cop. He definitely is on trial here: https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...deal-as-ex-winger-trains-with-watford-3308897
Interesting, thanks! I actually found out from my fiancee's mum's hairdresser whose daughter is in a relationship with Eoin Teggart. I had never felt so ITK.
Adam Parkes on trial with Bromley with a view to a loan deal. Dunno how long for, would have thought League 2 would have been a logical step for him after a very good spell towards the end of last season with Barnet
That's not how we do things here. Whack him on a new deal, give him a series of loans that don't push him and then release.
Next stop: the Italian 3rd tier, where he doesn't speak the language and the team in question have a good keeper already, and then off to the Portuguese second tier where he'll have the same issue
Doesn't sound like most of these are up to much, although maybe that ex-Millwall youngster could be decent https://theathletic.com/2710608/202...th-a-premier-league-club/?source=ukdailyemail
✍️ Kamil Conteh, Kane Crichlow, Dominic Hutchinson, J J McKiernan, Adam Parkes & Daniel Phillips have all signed professionals deals with the club. Congratulations lads https://t.co/O9FqV2jalf https://t.co/zLMq4BjTLd
Dante Baptiste was offered a deal at the end of last season along with these guys but it looks like he's decided to move on.
Midtable in L1 would be a little higher than I thought he would go. Hopefully gets plenty of game time.
I see your point, but ou'd think that a team like Gillingham would only loan players who would improve them
The club are actually getting decent loans for our most promising youngsters? Gilligan and Johnson are earning their money already.
New name for the U23 trialist brigade - Josh O'Brien. American defender/midfielder, played for Seattle Sounders academy. Got minutes against Brentford on Saturday.
Is Abbott old enough to go out on loan yet? A season in upper league 1, and he could be ready for champo football next season. Looks better than Cathcart.
He's still only 16 I think. He sounds like a real gem, looking forward to seeing him turn out for Man City U23s in a few years.
Highlights of the game against St Albans the other night. Good finish from Tom, nice little assist from Perica. Also, looks like Baptiste is still at the club.
1 year deals for Morris and O’Brien confirmed. https://www.watfordfc.com/news/academy-obrien-morris-join-watford
https://www.harpendencolts.com/newsstory/newsid_129222/default.aspx He and Abbott must be secured for the club. The most sickening thing this summer for me has not been the odd movements made in the transfer market but losing three of the brightest prospects from the Academy. A real body blow. When one thinks of the money saved by not having to fork out for a signing or indeed when they do move on the money earned. Sorry to be so pecuniary but that was what the Academy was always for even under GT. Not to mention the immense pleasure fans have when seeing one of their own so to speak play for the first team.
The club no doubt did all they could to keep them. Given these clubs have to pay almost nothing for them, they're free to offer bumper contracts and large financial incentives for their families. Imagine Galvez probably got offered upwards of £5k a week to move
