Well if Moog is prepared to bravely step forward and say that he hates dogs I might as well go on record and say that I hate the The Beatles.

They absolutely **** as is all of the output of the members with the exception of thingy Harrison’s involvement with Python and Thomas the Tank Engine.

The Beatles = cats, Stones = dogs.

    Monkees = monkeys.

People who hate dogs are sociopaths who normally go on to commit murder.

I'm sure we've had a thread on this previously....or at least, the discussion temporarily sidetracked another thread.

Nothing controversial about hating the Beatles.

    Unlike hating dogs.

The irreverence and disrespect being shown to the memory of our recently departed Queen by some people on this forum.

I know not everyone likes royalty, but IMO there is no necessity to be rude and disrespectful to our nations recently deceased sovereign, or to anyone else who is recently deceased for that matter.

It would be better to remain silent about someone's life rather than to insult or disrespect their memory for no good reason.

Hadn’t seen anyone disrespect her or her life. There’s lots of fun being poked at company and individual’s reactions and irritation at the wall to wall coverage and cancellations, none of which disrespects the queen.

It seems you want to force everyone to rigidly observe an unquestionable narrative, irrespective of their views.

Why do I have to keep silent, when a load of mawkish nonsense is rammed down my throat at every turn?

Were the professional mourners who clapped and cheered and shouted 'hip hip hooray' as the Queen's coffin returned to Buckingham Palace last night showing respect for the dead? Didn't sound like it to me.

I must say I know she’s the Queen and all that but I’m shocked about how much it’s being drawn out. Surely the funeral would’ve been enough.

I’ve just heard a good point in favour of the monarchy, that it’s like fly paper for nutters.

Without it they would disperse and ruin other things that I might enjoy, with their need to obsequiously worship something.

Like a Wetherspoons shutting down means that everyone that drinks in there might end up in the nice pubs.

It's as though they just feel it's the right thing to do, moral high ground etc, which it clearly isn't. Hope they get their policy revised before Charlie leaves us....he's no spring chicken....

Why is it 'clearly' not the right thing to do? Millions of Daily Mail readers would disagree and the enormous queues for the lying in state suggest that there is a strong public demand for it.

Does that suggest a strong public demand for showing nothing but queen related info over all major tv networks for almost a week ? Or does it suggest many millions are interested and should of course be catered for. I’m suggesting that wall-to-wall blanket coverage on all channels isn’t required maybe just rolling BBC news channel would suffice for example ?

They're live steaming the lying in state:

I'll probably just wait for the highlights show on the evening news.

The OP wasn't specifically discussing the media coverage though. I tend to agree that that is over the top.
