The offer of advice on gameplay - but yes as Cthulhu says, it could be a red herring if someone has read previous games.

That sounds boring. Should we just kill him before he has a chance of talking us out of it?

Anyone here played Avalon? Similar premise (good vs evil, good tries to uncover evil). Good fun.

Just on the 'off to potter' point.

Fenrir Greyback, from Harry Potter, was mentioned as the werewolf in Opti's write up. So could certainly be an attempted message.

Bland should be killed just for being bland, good or evil, no matter.

I need to vote soon as I'm off outside away from screens. BRLR, EBH, Warehouse, Burnsey. Which one?

Edit: Vote cast. Off for rum to numb the possibility of death later.

You are correct, it was a nod to the Harry Potter character, just to let Opti know I'd clocked the reference.

I would have to be a super moron to give a hint as to a role in the very first post of the game though!

Thats twice you've gone after me , both times your reasoning doesnt add up.

This time you've called me bland. Considering I have posted frequently, outlining theories and pointing the finger at two people ie you (Diamond) and Tom, the bland/neutral accusation is strange, especially from an experienced player like you.

I am going to say that my stab that Tom is Evil is correct and you are trying to throw the scent off.

My suspicion is Tom is Alpha and Diamond is Traitor/Beta.

We'll see if Im right if I get taken tonight.

Yeah just to clarify why I said this - it was suggested I read through your previous game and in doing so saw that’s what happened in the first couple of rounds without much to go on, so was much me asking as opposed to saying.

Without a Smile has done that big post not long after someone half mentioning him due to the ‘glad’ clue.

Seems like a redirection to me (although I appreciate mine could now as well!)

I am an obvious target overnight (or tomorrow). Both wolves could attack me to learn each others identities early on.

Yep, you're not lasting long in this game whichever way we look at it I'm afraid.

Interesting moral dilemma for the Guardian - protect you tonight as only confirmed good or appreciate you're going to go anyway either tonight or tomorrow and protect someone else. Given they have no idea of anyone else's status, might as well buy you another day in my view.

Have we ever had two wolves target the same person, who is also being looked after by the guardian?
If this does happen, do the wolves still get to know the others identity?

Kind of deserves it for letting go of Wilson. Man I was rooting for that volleyball.

My theory is that the wolf posted the second message and might be a little inexperienced.

Basically, if a wolf names someone as evil on day 1, people will always end up voting for that person as there's nothing else to go on. Always happens and is kind of a cheap kill for the wolf. They have indeed wasted their message in my opinion.

I’m confused - why are you voting so early?

And can I ask - given everyone surely reads every post on here to make sure they don’t miss anything - why did you repeat my line about Tom Hanks/Wilson/kick-around almost word for word?

This will likely get your back up given your reaction to someone even mentioning your name a moment ago - but it does make me wonder why you’ve done that.

I'd agree, but I also see no point in the seer viewing someone who has already been named as good, unless they think it was a double bluff by the wolf.

Fenrir is also ‘Wolf God’ in Norse mythology. And Norse mythology is predominantly based upon Icelandic folklore.

    Heidar?

Not pointing the finger but it’s just a possible link - but admittedly tenuous.

Have we had Fenrir come up as the wolfs name in previous games?

Would be ridiculously unfair of Opti to hint at a wolf (or indeed anyone's) identity in the opening post, so inclined to rule this out. It would ruin the game.

    Agreed.

I’m still confused by BRLR’s behaviour so would like to see that explained.

Yeah I think the opening post doesn't have any clues in them, just meant to be there to get the game going.
