Isn't ther a role where the seer sees someone as good but they're bad?

Chances of this happening are absolutely insanely incredible of course so completely off the conversation now, but I'm sure this happened (to DaftRow I think) in a game ages ago who was viewed first as good and was actually bad that screwed everyone up the whole game.

 

Was Gladys Protheroe around in this era?

I thought it was the other way round. Tinker: Good players gets viewed as evil by the seer.

Has there been a role where an evil player gets viewed as good?

To be honest, I just saw everyone talking humorously at the start about being on an island and what they were going to go and do - hence my reference to Wilson and Tom Hanks - was just trying to join in!

Although quite why BRLR has almost word for word repeated my sentence about Wilson and a kickabout, well for that…I’ve no idea.

 

No that was my game where he was the tinker. Was good, but seer viewed him as evil so everyone piled on the votes. The sheer shock when he was revealed as good was hilarious. For info, the tinker will not know they are the tinker.

 

On the other hand, if I were the wolf, and the Seer had named Cthulhu as good, i'd at the very least name someone else at random as good, rather than naming the same person. To name Cthulhu as the good for the wolf helps nothing.

We either have a Seer or a Wolf who wasted their message.

Well it's basically confirmed that Ctulhu will either be gone tonight or tomorrow, that's why I didn't think it was helpful.

Second message feels like a wolf being cautious about accidentally naming a fellow member of Team Evil or someone playing their first game as a Seer to me.

 

There's no point, we've not been told what roles are in the game, nor how many of each one there are.

Makes it a lottery and based on vibes rather than a game of logic and deduction.

Only sensible thing for us all to do is assume that Ctulhu is good, rather than thinking there might be some obscure or newly invented role whereby he's evil but shows as good and the Seer just happened to pick him out of 20+ people on the first day.

Nothing to go on so far.

EB suggested we pick off an inactive player which was echoed in the second message - probably nothing in it but worth noting.

 

We have nothing to go on other than don't lynch Ctulhu. Anyone sensible can see that. The wolves will have been posting but nothing much of note.

I see two options:

i) identify the players that have just made the generic 'nice to be here, let's find some water' comments and not really said much about the game and hope to find a wolf in that pool. We know the alpha isn't inactive as they posted a message. They have a major role so will want to be contributing but without drawing too much attention to themselves.
ii) look at anyone already coming up with theories when we have nothing to go on and vote for them - they might turn out to be good but many a game has been derailed for Team Good before by people coming up with crackpot theories and reaching for connections that aren't there.

 

I don't agree with this. They are usually quite active but non-committal. We always lynch inactive players and they're almost always Team Good, forgotten to play, didn't check in as much as didn't have a special role.

I love a good bit of mud slinging on day 1, there’s nothing like grabbing at straws, reading too much into everything and making 2 + 2 = 5

We have gone from 3 dots to 6 or 7 dots

If the three dots have joined the wolves, we now have someone declaring their larger and stating that they need to stay around and fanG you with their Giant Teeth (leaves) - Are they trying to imply that they are the Alpha, more dots, giant fanG ?

Here we have more dots, but also the fact that we are being told that this message was sent by the mate of a Scurvey dog – how do you know if you’re not the traitor?

Is there an admission that they are a little rusty – as in a rusty terroir?

I used to play a mafia game on Facebook years ago. The best course of action was always accuse someone early doors and see how they react. I therefore will say it's wfcwarehouse. For the post above which is clearly just an effort to fill space and not look Sus.

 

I like the stretching. Keep it up.

 

Its good to have a few theories being chucked around on Day 1 because it draws people out, otherwise it plays into Team Evils hands by allowing them to play it neutral and then free to do their murdering at night.

 

2nd message is from someone who has played before, likely several times. That's pretty much all I can deduce.

 

Why?

 

Not the case, and I’ll clarify further now.

EB suggested an inactive player being targeted, which was then also part of the second message. I’ve no idea which of todays two messages are the seer/wolf but both haven’t been great.

If anything, I find it a clumsy attempt to try and implicate a new player (I think) in EB who we know nothing about at this point.

Pretty sure Cthulu is good but it’s wide open apart from that.

 

If first message was the Wolf they've just named someone at random good, which isn't uncommon. They know nothing more than any of us. The second message would have to be the Seer and they also know nothing at this point. They have a very low probability of finding an evil but by using that view on Ctulhu, they've signed his death warrant early in the game.

If the second message is the Wolf, then they know Ctulhu is good. They don't know anyone else's status yet though. By naming Ctulhu they put a mark on his back as an easy kill either tonight or tomorrow and don't risk any friendly fire on team evil by naming someone else (even though it's counter intuitive, it's often one of the named people that get lynched when both are called good).

Therefore leaning towards the first message being the seer and the second the wolf.
