Outgoings A. Incomings E. So C overall. Suspect Pozzo is getting ready to sell after failing. Kone/Asprilla will be hived off to Udine at Xmas. Edit: didn’t know that useless Bachman has been ingrained for 5 years. Down to a D.
Aside from players who don't have a hope of getting into our first team, I think our outgoings are more or less done, the hope now is that we bring in a few more, money is tight, but there clearly is some to bring in some players on loan at least. As long as those players aren't Livermore-esque then I remain hopeful we can put out a competitive team this season
Although some will say better to get players in now than leave it till after 4/5 games where we may or may not do well .
I absolutely can with Bachmann getting a 5 year extension and made captain! We could bring in Mitrovic for all I care, and it will still be an F- times infinity.
I’m still assessing the 12/13 season transfer window as some of the players are still playing . Gimme me a shout in ten years time and I’ll let you know .
Still think TDB needs to be shipped out. Kid isn’t good enough. It’s not his season, and it never will be. Problem is, we’re forced to keep him because we legit only have Louza and Kone as our other CM’s. We desperately need to sign 2 CM’s. That’s outside of desperately needing a Striker or two, a DM and a LCB. I would add a GK to that list as I did before but now it’s completely pointless after today’s baffling decision.
I don't mind him, and I know we've said this before, but surely TDB isn't going to be a regular, we've got Louza, Koné, Kayembe, Livermore, Asprilla, Chakvetadze and hopefully one more in his way
I really don't get this "Hate in" for Bachman, he may not be the best keeper, but he's far from the worst I've seen.
To early to grade our transfer window, at least I hope it is as there is definitely room for improvement.
Outgoings: A+ Every outgoing was either needed, necessary or just loan expiring. Incomings: C (Room for B+) We've signed the right type of players for the most part (Livermore aside) but need more. C for current signings, a few more move this up a grade. Contract Renewals: U Jesus Christ. Bachmann on a 5 year deal. I could accept a 2 year extension with a view to a longer term plan for the position. But *5*?! And Captain? I just don't see it. I don't think he's bad for the Championship, but this smacks of a lack of ambition
The problem is that we've had such a good run with high quality goalkeepers that Bachmann looks worse than he actually is. (Nobody compares to in form Gomes) He also talks a good game but on the pitch comes across as petulant more than commanding in his actions which runs fans up the wrong way. I don't think he's a bad character but I think it shouldnt be hard to do a lot better.
It’s a D/E right now, could well change depending on who comes in but seems increasingly likely we aren’t looking to add much quality As it stands we look set to go into the season with a significantly lower cost base but a significantly weaker side I too wonder whether Pozzo is looking to clear the debt and sell up
Outgoings are done and we've had a fairly good window in that respect. A lot of players that should have been toast years ago are out the door. We have a full month for incomings. I don't think we're ready for QPR, but then I don't think QPR are ready either. Should be an absolute shambles. Bring it on.
A, for the clear out D, for the incomings…so far still need 2 strikers, 2 central midfielders and a central defender imo
You can grade it on current incomings and outgoings so far and the quality / background of recruits. For the most part it's been very productive with most signings being the mould of player you want in your team for this league. (Livermore aside, though could well be a VI specific request to aid the dressing room, backed up by him being in the Leadership Group) We still have gaps to fill, and it's disappointing we haven't covered a lot of them before QPR to get them in the Pre-Season training regime because it's integral to how tobut a week is a very long in football, let alone a month.
You do if the answer is Bachmann. In fact you expel that student from the school for thinking the answer is Bachmann.
But for project work you typically have ‘formative’ assessment during the project, so the students know how they are doing. ‘Summative’ assessment is done at the end of the project to grade the work.
Transfer dealings so far. Out: B. Not enough players were sold or released. In: F. Apart from Lewis, the other loan deals are on players that would struggle in League One or:Two*. *Ince is out injured. With only a £2m transfer, what did we expect? Pozzo is set to save money. Ps: Bachmann on a 5 Yr deal and captain, ludicrous decision. He should have been sold or released.
Oh, that's ok then. As long as he not the absolute, bottom of the barrel "worst", we'll ignore the fact he's painfully average and limited at best - and that's being extremely generous - and a laughable choice as captain as someone who's repeatedly proven himself a petulant, hot headed brat, and somebody who has reportedly tried to get out of the club multiple times.
Outgoings - very good. Incomings - Underwhelming. A month to go still. A lot can happen. Will it? Probably not! We are still painfully short in key areas! We will be mid table at best.
Bond, ,Suckling, Arlauskis, Loach, Gilmartin and Poom. I would put Bachmann in this group. He is a poor Keeper. You have to command your area in the physically tough Championship. He just doesn't do this. He shrinks when the ball is crossed. He first action is to take steps backwards which opens up more space to aim at. He does not shut down the angle. We all know that his first verbal call is "away or out". We all heard this so clearly during the covid era. Bachmann should have been sold or released during the summer. This transfer window has shown us that Manga has had very little influence at the club so far and that Watford FC are almost broke . With a transfer budget of just £2m, loan players, the exception being Lewis, will be from mediocre lower league European clubs. If and when Ismael fails, it will not matter to Pozzo as it was expected .
Even with him - I still would like 2 more in the mid field tbh - greedy I know, but I still feel we are light in that area
Outgoings - B+ Very good overall and a lot of the "dead wood" removed. Flip side to this is we have a more threadbare squad and are going to be hampered if any modest amount get injured. With Cathcart, Kabasele. WTE, Cleverley, Hungbo and Sarr gone that's a lot of players who have left who should of been sold/moved on a long time ago. Got some good money for Pedro, a small amount for WTE and around 15M for Sarr. Could of got more for Sarr but we won't go there again. Incomings - C Impossible to really tell until the new season starts, but Lewis was a good coup out the lot so far. Ince? Oh yeah injured. Welcome to the Watford medical team Tom. See you in March. Livermore seems to be more of a Cleverley replacement, Healy needs games before we can really judge. Getting Martins back on loan could be a good move. Our attack is very weak though, which is the biggest worry moving into the new season. Bayo should be good enough at this level but he needs to put away chances on a more consistent basis. Wonder if we will see more of Baah as the season goes on.
