Lucky not to get sent off .

Seems like they have woken up though or Kane has gone back up front .

Nathan Jones might not last long at Southampton

    He was all at sea.
Scoreline slightly misleading I'd say and harsh on Palace but Spurs have taken their chances and Guehi had a WTE moment for the fourth.

    Yep!

Can't see the WG lasting very long,he was twitching a la Herbert Lom in Clouseau in his press conference before the Ugly Bugs' Ball that was tonight's game!

I won’t judge Jones until he’s had a full preseason. And neither should the Southampton fans.

Will be back at Luton within 12 months, like the last time he tried to escape.

Obviously I hate the thought of the noisy neighbours going up but it would be funny to see Jones reaction as Southampton pass them going the other way.... assuming he's still there!

'Noisy?' Don't remember hearing them last time we played them. And I can't imagine 8,000 people with a row of greenhouses being particularly noisy.
Nothing about that scenario is funny in the slightest. It keeps me awake at night.

    I remember this :

“In Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic, Chelsea have been forced into making two substitutions in the first 22 minutes of this match, the earliest a side has subbed two starters in a Premier League game since Watford v Crystal Palace in December 2016 (14th min)”

Was the Zaha v Harry Hornet match

A headline in The Times today: "Eddie Howe bringing Diego Simeone-style dark arts to Ndwcastle." Apparently he's been to Atletico to learn how to cheat better. The article lists the dirty tricks used against Arsenal. Rumbled at last!

Wasn't that also the game Deeney netted his 100th goal for us with a signature penalty?

    Got to feel for Potter.

Club signs a potentially exciting young attacker who starts well on his debut but then gets sent off!

Marco Silva doing a ridiculously good job.

    Thanks again, Everton.

And they must wonder why Silva failed there.

    But then most managers do.

This is the thing that pi$$ed me off most, I think with Silva we could have built some stability, results only started going awry after we warned Everton off, he'd only been here for 10 matches before they stuck their noses in. In a way I don't blame Silva for being interested somewhat knowing that our previous managers in the PL had only lasted one season each.

It was unfortunate that we happened to recruit a good manager who was even more selfish, driven and single-minded than our owners.

Difference being that when managers get the sack they get their contract paid up in full, so getting the sack isn’t actually a bad thing for them and hence it’s not unreasonable for a club to expect a bit of loyalty, because if/when a manager is sacked he’ll be looked after anyway.

Interesting debate around the offside decision in the Manchester derby. I think 99% of us would look at that and immediately think offside, but looking at the new offside rules it is far less clear and I can see why it was given.

The Premier League is looking really topsy-turvy with Southampton, West Ham, Everton, Wolves and Leicester in or close to the bottom three and Brentford, Brighton and Fulham (who have all had at least one really good result against the usual top six) being so high up the table and rubbing shoulders with Chelsea and Liverpool.

Even though we’re 3rd it really feels like we’ve been left well and truly behind by those three fellow small clubs (as if it wasn’t obvious already from those two games against Brighton last season). Potter going doesn’t seem to have signalled the slide down the table that I expected Brighton to experience, it seems they do genuinely have a good team in their own right by any standards.

I really liked Potter, but De Zerbi is arguably at the very least a sideways move. He's comfortably a CL-level manager and Brighton wouldn't have had a chance without the Ukraine war.

Some big beasts going to be hitting the trapdoor this season that’s for sure (more fun for us to contend with if we don’t go up this year).

Meanwhile the dozy bint on SSN is having a torrid time.
Earlier she called the WG "Graham Jones" and has now said Brentford have won five of their last four.

Bad finishing and awful defensive play again.

Rodgers likes to look for positives but even he seemed to be running out of them .

More moaning from Bournemouth about cheating and gamesmanship (I did think Toney was pulling their defender first tbf)

Well they know how others felt now !

Nothing makes me feel better on a Sunday after we win and Liverpool get tonked for a second week in a row wiping that grin of Klopp's creepy face.
