Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. No poor performances, but Bachmann is still nerve inducing. Thought Kayembe was excellent, as was Cathcart, Davis, Pedro, Kamara. Very happy, but the inconsistency is staggering. The effort and focus today was a million miles from the Den. If they can do that today, they should do it every day, as professionals. Hope restored, for now.
Every player had a good game but a special mention for Choudary. What an absolute beast! I shall expect that work rate and dominance for the rest of the season now though!
Need to wake up and realise we'll win every game 4-0 in this league if we approach every game the same way. When you can make a fair crunching tackle to clear the ball into the stands.... ******* do it. When you can burst into space with the ball... ******* do it. Shame it wasn't more but a 4-0 scoreline feels somewhat right v that bunch.
F'ing LOL. No. He wasn't even MotM today. You can come back to this if he consistently starts bossing games in the PL and in the final rounds of the Champion's League vs the likes of Liverpool and Bayern Munich. It doesn't even seem clear yet if he'll end up better than Richarlison.
I am over the moon with the performance and the general attitude of the team today. They turned up and showed even without our best midfielder, what they can do when they put their minds to it. First off, thankful Davis is not badly injured and should be back quickly, second, it was so, so pleasing to start a game on the front foot and that early Davis goal settled everyone's nerves and we played some dare I say it, Premier League style football in places. We know we haven't got the best squad in the division but it's so annoying that we can play this well one week then "do a Millwall" the following week. We have six day gap now so no midweek fixture, and we're away for both of our next two. Let's hope this really was the kick start, because we have seen so many false dawns this season. Luton were poor but we made them look poor, they had a decent spell just after half time but Pedro's cool finish after a Foster-esq fumble from their keeper gifted us the game. It was no wonder the backed off after that with the game gone. Credit to the lads though, they never sat back on the lead and kept pressing - Sarr rewarding his good game with a class finish into the bottom corner. Not forgetting WTE, who had a poachers goal following a wonderful ball in from JP who was excellent today/ I know a lot of us were moaning (myself included) that this game won't matter to the players' but I think it did. When we play well we really do play well at times and today was another example of that. Full credit to the fans' who were vocal throughout and sung the lads home. What we do not want now is a repeat of our last few games after a well earned win. Let's get this balance of consistentcy right and chain a few wins together. Red Card was well earned by their player and Kudos to WTE for ushering him off the pitch. Our home form seems pretty good so far overall, we need to start playing much better away. Still great end to the weekend and some positive vibes.
Maybe we should play at 12 noon on a Sunday more often ! 2 4-0 wins . What a fantastic performance and atmosphere.
Thought this too. He was everywhere, winning everything. Such determination. I like his no nonsense style. Even got forward once or twice and overlapped and I was even hoping to see him get himself on the scoresheet. Best game I've seen him have in a WFC shirt by some distance.
Very true. After about ten minutes I thought he was a certainty for a red card,he was flying in but he was measured thereafter. What was the Grealish impersonator Cornet up to on the touchline with Cuddley?
Well well well , wasnt expecting that !! Now please try to string some wins together ........and we might not get relegated
Biggest home win against the scum in our history. Gino Pozzo's regime, the gift that keeps giving. Savour this moment.
Yeah for today and this week in general I couldn’t care less about owners, inconstant players etc, that was so bloody enjoyable! Depeche mode on loop at the moment and grinning ear to ear!
Moment of the match was 2 of their players trying to chop down JP but getting nowhere near him. Would have been an iconic goal had he gone on and scored.
I wasn't going to attend but my friend had a spare and I could not resist and I guess I still never technical put the money in the Pozzo's pocket that way. I am so glad I did watch it that was probably the most enjoyable Watford game I can remember, I went to the match completely dreading it and thought it could be one of the worst days following Watford but how I was wrong. Genuinely didn't think the players had that much fight about them and they absolutely took the piss out of Luton who to be honest looked crap. It is difficult to pick particular players out and the players actually looked like they were together today but I think a special mention goes to Kiernan Davis who was excellent and I also thought Choudhury. Cathcart and Gosling were exceptionally good and we don't even need to mention Joao he just took the piss out of them.
Sema was my MotM. Rode challenges, fought hard and fair while taking some horrific tackles. We know his limits but he's a huge asset in the Championship and that ignores his attitude.
Lovely stuff. Cant fault anyone today. It just shows that if we can get the basics right we can do very well in this league. Pozzo out still.
Best home game since, well since I can remember. Absolutely enjoyed it from beginning to end. Cannot remember saying that for a long, long time.
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahaahahah. Nathan Jones is blaming an illness bug. Yes, it's the general disease of playing for L*t*n. The strongest bleach doesn't get rid of that.
As we left past the hospital, a group of their hardcore being escorted by police and singing anti GT songs through the exiting fans. Scum.
Annoying that we don't get to see Woozy and his mates forced to grudgingly fawn over our glorious victory on the Football League Highlights Show because this game took place on a Sunday, tbh.
Others did more with the ball, but Gosling was my MOM. Set the tone and never looked back. He's gone from being not considered as a right back to our best right back in the space of two weeks. Doesn't say much for the other two, but I feel he gives us a bit of calmness there, helped out by Sema's work rate
