Yeah they just said. Would he see himself more Watford than Lootown? If not, strange choice. But oh well, as i say prefer to TM.
Someone please post the picture of Davis scoring a scorpion kick whilst simultaneously dog walking Sonny Bradley
I don't get this lot to be honest. I'd have bet anything on them bottling this Gosling absolutely driving us along. Showed straight away what today meant and everyone followed
"Oh dear oh dear oh dear!" I think we may get a point now! Byeeeeeee! Filthy challenge and it's been coming all game. Hopefully Ken is ok.
Early goals always help as do those before half time. Thoroughly merited win. The shape and movement were excellent. So was the high press. Special mentions to Pedro and his sublime skill. Choudhry for his tenacity and mopping up and likewise for Gosling. A pleasing clean sheet as well. There are still aspects to work on such as the poor passing out from the back namely WTE and misplaced passes that cost attacking opportunities not to mention the abysmal crossing from both flanks. And yet again another injury to Davis who is critical to this side in retaining the ball high up the pitch. Fingers crossed it's a minor injury. The key is that this form, confidence and effort are sustained. It's not just winning one game here or there but a consistent run. After the Norwich win hopes were raised but dashed by the appalling effort at Millwall. It's quite clear if the players show this level of effort that their skill may come into play. Nonetheless always a pleasure putting that lot down the road firmly back into their flea ridden box. BATTER A HATTER. If you want post match entertainment please visit the Outlaws site and their book of excuses. Or drink a bottle of Chateau Luton 2022. Rather salty but a pleasing vintage.
How about these for player ratings; Bachman 10 Gosling 10 Kamara 10 Troost-Ekong 10 Cathcart 10 Choudary 10 Kayembe 10 Sema 10 Sarr 10 Pedro 10 Davis 10 Kalu 10 Gaspar 10 Bayo 10 Asprilla 10 Watford 4 Lootown 0 Waaaayyyyyy!!!!
We've generally been a completely different team at home than away, this was similar to the level we managed vs Norwich and so a good win is not a huge shock. The playing surface and the extra confidence of being at home helps, but we need to start carrying that fighting spirit to away games as well, when we've often started timidly. I also think the game away at a very tough Millwall side with a shocking Pollock undermining our defence is more likely to prove an anomaly than this game was, and why the reaction on the forum after that game was so absurd. It'll be our ridiculous injury situation which seems likely to cost us more than anything this season. Davis was MotM so of course got injured! It doesn't appear to be major, but missing him for even a few games is a blow. We still have plenty of quality in forward areas but the inability to keep key players fit can clearly make the difference come the end of the season. I'd also been thinking that at least Choudhury has been a warrior in staying fit for us, but then he goes off. Hopefully with him it looked to just be a knock. Kayembe was notable in having a very good game back in for Louza. Was positive both in and out of possession. There were generally good performances all around. The only player generally sub-par was Sarr, though he still had his trademark one moment of class per match.
Absolutely beautiful. Excellent performance, but showed some ******** and passion alongside it. Gulf in class was massive at times. Need some consistency now.
It's happened again ladies and gents! I was hopeful with Cathcart was on the team sheet, in for Pollock, and the attacking players on show we could win, and we dominated throughout. Put a lot of effort in the match today so not going to predict what might happen next, but not caring about that now, just going to enjoy the win.
Can only feel deeply sorry for anyone who was unable to enjoy our biggest ever home win against the scum because a hatred of who the owner happens to be right now. Imagine missing out the joy the rest of us are feeling right now!
F*cking unbelievable!! What a result! We all hoped for a reaction and we certainly got one. First to every ball, intensity, aggressive in the tackle, and when we got ahead and had them by the throat we never let up. Cathcart was solid, Davis lead the line well, Sema worked his bollox off, Kamara was still bombing forward in the 91st minute and Joao Pedro… well, Joao just took the piss as if he was playing in his back garden. Made them look silly at times. A sight to behold. As far as I’m concerned, a performance and result like that wipes the slate clean for this season for the players. All the inconsistencies and frustrating results are forgiven when you batter Luton like that. Lets carry this forward now until the break and see where that puts us. I’m getting the beers out! Happy Sunday all!
Credit to all who played. They were totally on it from the first kick. Outclassed them and out fought them everywhere. I fear for the town now as they crawl back to their filthy little hovels. Take care all. Wine, gin, industrial floor cleaner or all of the above?! COYH!
We were all rightly doom and gloom before this, but ******* hell, I almost don't care what happens now for the rest of the season, that was brillant!
Whole team looked up for it Cathcart firms up the back and Gosling looked really strong JP , is he the best player to ever play for Watford ? Davis is the new Deeney, play long to him , he will bring it down and lay off to someone else, very useful when combating long ball / aggressive teams. Asprilla in two years time will be a force to reckon with. Sarr needs to do more, but he scored a great goal so hard to knock him today. I don’t think anybody looked like they didn’t care, why can’t we do this every week.
That was beautiful. Nothing better than spanking those scumbags. Atmosphere came through well on the TV. Were there any L*t*n fans there!!!
My pre-game Karambe slandering reverse psychology clearly worked! Feels amazing to get an emphatic win, particularly given the senior and dominant nature of the performance, and PARTICULARLY given the nature of the opponent. For a fair few fans the jury is still out on Davis, and yet he just keeps scoring - he really could be a huge difference maker for us this season still, and the way he plays is, in some ways similarly to Louza, irreplaceable for a functioning attack. Obviously, he suffers from no lack of technique, either. A Goalscorer like that is a rare commodity, and yet isn't even what he came to us as - quite the opposite, in fact. As I said on the Shoutbox, WTE is broadly a calamity, but it was delightful to see him score in a fixture that would have meant something to him as a player that it hasn't for any other player of ours since Deeney's departure, at the very least, and realistically probably much further than that. It seemed like part of the negation of Louza's absence was Kayembe actually playing football, and part was JP doing his 'dropping and roving' act. He's obviously good at that, but it does in turn negate him around the opposition box somewhat, which is where we all most want to see him. I don't think it's a long term solution, but bloody glad it worked today. Obviously, of course, once again, it still all means very little if we turn up at Wigan next weekend and fart out a meek, lifeless performance on the way to a grey defeat. Can this be a catalyst, like Norwich or Stoke could and should have been, and weren't? Bilic has another clear week to work with the team, now, at least, and hopefully we won't have 7 fresh injuries announced over the course of the next few hours. I don't like the idea that it takes an in-stadium game against our biggest rivals/enemy to drive the players to this kind of performance, or indeed more generally big occasions against teams that are for whatever reason seen as bigger or more important, but perhaps even if it does, it may start to form some sort of muscle memory in the accomplishment of it. I'll be far more convinced by what I see next Saturday than today, but I can't say I wasn't delighted by what it was I witnessed. When my NOW tv app finally bothered to start working, that is.
That was fuccking lovely. Didn’t see it coming. We’ve much bigger issues to deal with, but that’s for another day. Today, we forget all about the bigger picture of infuriating inconsistency and a mental owner. Nope, today we bask in the glory of absolutely battering those dirty little khuunts. WTE goes down in folklore for double-handed waving their red card off the pitch, with the most patronizingly smug look on his face.
