Fair play to @Burnsy and @NathWFC for being right for a very long time.

Gino Pozzo is nothing short of a despot. Any goodwill is far long gone. Every single decision since 2019 has been atrocious and it shows no sign of improving, in fact going from bad to worse with the Bayat exclusively link.

Good idea, I don't particularly relish watching us lose to them.

    Banner prepared.
I was surprised at the amount of ink in my stencil pen but as I haven't used black ink for about ten years I suppose it had a bit of life in it!

We got promoted with empty stands. Which likely has given Gino a sense that support from fans isn’t required.

Not a peep from the fans. Thought there might be some anti-Pozzo rumblings when it went 0-3, but it was just silent. No angry chants; just empty seats. You could argue the latter’s more powerful, but were all mugs enough to turn up in the first place.

If you can't be angry, just have apathy and walk out and not attend games.
This season it won't matter as season tickets have been paid for, but those on Direct Debit can cancel (I did last season).
It will be next season when they drop down to 8k they may notice

It was clear from Saturday that the Pozzo out movement is purely an online phenomenon. The majority of fans are happy to go along, sing some songs about Pozzo and the team, then give them a nice clap at the end after another defeat.

I think the Pozzo Out movement is demonstrated by the empty seats

Without wanting to point out the obvious but...

Recruitment: first 7 years the Pozzos built squads. Worked on where the weaknesses were and recruited accordingly. Last 3 years that just hasn't happened

Head Coach: the merry go round has happened from day 1 but the toxicity didn't creep into the squad until 3-4 years ago. The "I can do what I want as the manager will go before me" type attitude. So even our best players can't be bothered

Finances: our laisse faire spending can only be justified if we are a Premier team....which we aren't. I would argue this squad has a higher risk of going down than up

What to do: only thing that could have been done is change the managerial merry go round and invest in a young manager and give him time. Build a squad around his needs. Ensure the finances aren't so dire that we can afford a few seasons in the Championship. This should have been done post the FA Cup year

Our fans: in any other club there would be huge outrage at the fact that we are now probably in a worse place than pre Pozzo. A poor, poor squad with huge debts that even a fire sell won't be able to balance the books. At least on this forum people recognise that. On other forums there are people trying to justify the current situation

What to do: nothing we can do. I see no way that either Pozzo will want to sell at a buyer's probable valuation or, quite frankly, why anybody would want to buy the club.

So we are left in limbo.....maybe come Sunday we will find some courage to climb into the directors area once L*t*n score their fourth

Just before the Billy McKinley fiasco iirc. People forget that before then we were relatively normal and arguably gave Zola and Sannino too much time.

Yes, your right in name but (perhaps wrongly) I'd always been under the impression that Giampaolo was very heavily influencing things up until 2018 (about the time the Udinese fans really lost their sh*t with Pozzo Snr)

Protests at the training ground, in the stadium, blocking the team bus after a defeat. Their protests were against the Pozzos for prioritising us.
There's lots of articles in the Italian media around it

    Cheers.

If Sunday is anything like Wednesday, I will be putting my banner making skills into use for the next home game. It's only the prospect of digging in against the owners that is keeping me interested these days.

I bet when we go into administration they’ll claim there was no way we could’ve seen it coming.

Probably defended Bassini at the time too.

Sunday is the litmus test I think. If it goes South in terms of result and there's no reaction by fans, there never will.
Side note, I don't think it's a case that people aren't angry it's more they just can't be bothered so simply will stop attending, football at the top levels faces a real problem, they've treated fans as customers for too long, and people are genuinely measuring the expirience based on good return on time and return on expenditure.

Probably that lad from Canada who calls the game ‘ball’, supports a large number of teams and believes he knows the history of the club because he read the Wikipedia entry and can find the stadium on Google Maps.

I understand this view (in the screen grab) but only if you base it on the results. Yes we were "punching above our weight" initially, but we got there sustained and then spectacularly threw it all down the toilet. This mentality of little old Watford has to stop, we were an established premier league club - yes never likely to win the Premier league, but did have opportunities in the cups for success. We were forward thinking in terms of recruitment, a platform for a few years for players to excell and move on to better things (no problem with that). Then almost over night we abandoned those principles and have gone completely off any sort of structure.
So personally my anger is not at the fact we're not in the Premier league it's the fact we've absolutely squandered the chances that we're given to us, and now are in potentially serious problems financially.
