Yeah you're probably right so I'll retract some of my criticism of pedro that he was trying to do to much.
He looked like he'd already played a full 90 minutes even after he'd only been on the pitch for 5. Genuinely. He did nothing the few times he received the ball either, just played a simple pass back inside. Probably because he knew he didn't have the pace or stamina to move forwards with the ball. Considering he only came on as a sub in the last game, it's worrying signs.
Exactly my impression as well. He looks shockingly off the pace and physicality in this league and I don't see him getting much better either
I'm sure the guy who is 32 in November will find an extra spring in his step and be bombing up and down that right wing any game now. It's not even his stamina, he seems to have no quality whatsoever. He panics with the ball under pressure and his crossing is terrible. I'm convinced we didn't do our research on him, we basically asked Villarreal who we could get in return for Kiko.
There were a notable couple of concerningly bad touches and general interactions with the ball, weren't there? A bit panicky, which is insane for a player of his experience and pedigree.
Easy in hindsight of course, but you have to question the motives of a 32 year old who would happily leave his home country and top flight football to come to Watford and play in the championship. If we were in the PL then fair enough, but at the moment he seems to be playing like someone who essentially came for an easy life.
I'm convinced this guy is actually Sietes and we're finally seeing him play. The Villareal Gaspar is still in Spain.
Or Villareal just saw an opportunity to fob off a player they knew was finished and we were foolish enough to accept them.
My main concern is that Edwards doesn't trust him to start. But what is it two assists, one of the line and Bayo took one of his head Saturday. I really don't understand why the club and then Edwards supposedly backing the decesion to get him in, for him not to start.
Guess Edwards was told he was far fitter and more capable than he's turned out to be. The fact he was reserve RB and was about to drop to 3rd choice RB in a slower less physical league should have been warning enough. He was never going to be a RWB for 46 games in the champ.
I'm sorry to tell you this Jumbo but Rob might be a liar. Also, the tooth fairy doesn't exist and I've got some bad news about Santa Claus which I'll hold back for now.
I suspect he was happy with his squad and another RWB was never discussed then ? Having got one RB in and having Ngakia available when fully fit, I guess he felt he was adequately covered though I suspect he may come to regret taking Gaspar ahead of a flying younger dedicated RWB. As others have said, it's certainly not a perfect squad, and was never going to be, but I can understand why Edwards would say he was "happy" with it which doesn't preclude the fact he could have been "happier" .
Athletic going along the lines of Ngakia being the solution. Vague interest in Stacey. No interest in Ebosele. Ngakia really could have done with a loan last season. When he's in confident mood he looks pretty good, but one mistake and he's a bag of nerves.
This was confusing. It said there was no interest, nor was it viable to get Ebosele, yet Soppy was definitely a viable option that was being explored until he was sold. Ebosele has played 7 mins of Serie A football for them this season, yet Soppy (who started 21 Serie A games for Udinese and was sold for £8m to a top Italian team) was somehow a viable target?
Highly doubt Leventhal would be privy to any team plans, although Kamara only started playing on the right because Ngakia got injured, it wasn't as if Edwards hated the idea of Ngakia so much that he played Kamara out of position! Considering Kamara has been preferred to Gaspar, I guess the spot is Ngakia's to lose when he's fit
Tbf, I think Udinese rate Ebosele but just want to take their time to get him up to speed with what they want to do
Don't listen to him if he's saying Santa doesn't exist. I've seen him multiple times in various shopping centres
Nah. The Pozzo zealots on Twitter have informed me that Rob always tells the truth. As has TUT on here
I think Kamara’s preferred to Ngakia. JN was on the bench for our first couple of games, so I don’t think he was injured until then. Meanwhile HK had already started RWB in a few friendlies and the opening 2 league games. I don’t think it’s much more complex than Rob wanting his wingbacks to have pace and be able to dribble.
