    Tee hee!
She didn't have to beat me on clay, more like cold custard!
When I played in France I could win the first round, usually against a 12 year old. The next round I would grit my way through against a 16/7 year old and fail in the quarters to a 20 something.
These were just rating tournaments, not tour events.
Clay is a proper test of a player. Dismal that we don't have it as a staple surface in GB.
    Tennis clubs think it's dirty.
    Clueless.
Like having Bayat as a tame agent...oh wait!

Back in the dark ages they only ranked the top twenty and I wasn't in it.
I did beat players as high as top ten but as a guide I lost 6-4,6-4 to Julie Salmon ( number 5-7) and 6-3 6-3 to Claire Wood ( number 3).
I was and am ( especially as I'm now older than Deucalion) a better doubles player.
My partner and I reached final round of Wimbledon qualies, twice and semis of GB nationals, back when they were played.

I'd claim to have been 21st then. Who's gonna disprove that ? :)
My best was getting knocked out in the 6th round at Wimbledon. But that was the FA cup under Steve Harrison at Plough Lane.

There used to be clay courts on the cassiobury estate. Presumably now replaced by a synthetic court. Doesn’t Ismael live on the Casdiobury?

Do you mean when there were two separate clubs?
They were both three court and named "Essex House" and "The Gardens". I seem to recall them having shale ( a relative of clay but not as good). They also had two dustbins in the corner of one court at one club and given that the run back was hardly Chatrier length, you could easily end up in one!
They joined forces to become " Cassiobury".
    The clubs that is.
Not sure where the bins are!
    Probably coaching somewhere!

Zaha linked with Chelsea tonight. He’s got one year left. If that happens, I reckon Sarr>Palace becomes a whole lot more likely.

Still 2 days to flog him then!

Just get the feeling one of him or Pedro will suddenly be subjected to a last minute bid.

Palace will definitely come in with a low ball bid for one of them.

Newcastle will be back for Pedro.

Predictable that they will wait until Thursday with 5-6hours to go before the window slams shut.

It doesn’t “close”, it “slams shut”.
Does it go back one day for the bank holiday ? My binmen are coming a day later this week.

Well, they wanted double-time for Monday but I said no.
Anyway, so do we think Sarr may be off to CP as a replacement if Zaha leaves ?

It’s well known that Gallagher and Lyle want to breakaway. They’ve been saying that for nearly 50 years.
