I'm not really focusing on how the player has joined, I'm more considering what their ability seems to be. Louza was a Mogi client but that didn't stop most on here wetting their knickers over him when he signed, while I stated that I was underwhelmed and didn't think he was what we needed for the PL last season. This time around, this guy is also a Mogi client and I think he appears to be very much the type of player we need for Edwards' system in the Champ next season and should do well.
I'm still trying really hard to be bothered by the Mogi stuff (genuinely) but I just can't get that arsed by it. His hit rate is similar, or maybe slightly better, than the average recruitment you'd get at any club, so I find it hard to get annoyed when we use his connection to bring someone in. That will obviously change if we're ever found guilty of being involved in actual illegalness/dodgy-doings. And as with every signing, I'll wait until I see him play before declaring him shyte
I guess that's your prerogative, but our insistence on exclusively dealing with a man who stinks to high heaven of serious charges and who seems to take a hell of a lot of money out of the club in agent fees - I'd say it's fair enough that some of us are less than happy with that, especially after another summer smarm offensive by Duckbrie
Yep, I've got no problem with people having problem with it. Just personally can't find the energy to give a ****.
Yeah, that’s fair enough, and just in terms of the player he is, I’d agree that he fits the profile of somebody that looks as though they’d be capable of doing a job in Edwards’ system. That said, I don’t think we can just overlook that once again, we’re signing a Bayat client, with the extra bonus that it involves his brother as well this time. Indeed, this is the first time we’ve actually spent money as a Championship club under Pozzo, and of course, Bayat is getting paid too. Hopefully this guy is one of the better ones, and I’d agree with you, the signs are that he could possibly be useful this year. Still can’t just ignore the Mogi red flag though.
Your second paragraph is fair enough, but no one appears to have a clue what the fee for this guy actually is. The likes of Keinan Davis, Ross Stewart, Elijah Adebayo etc. would all cost about £5mil I'd guess, should we even be able to bring them here. Bayo seems to be capable of doing at least as well as that kind of player, and if it turns out to be the case and we've got for £3mil or so then there also won't be too many problems. There are still plenty of unanswered questions, but I just think the initial signs are more promising than not.
€5m fee according to some sources. I wonder how much less than that the Bayat trading vehicle of Charleroi paid 1 month ago…
People assuming it’s a bad signing because of who his agent is rather than looking at his goal scoring record or waiting to see him play before passing judgement are hilarious. Stop desperately looking for reasons to have a moan. Maybe our miserable toxic fans are part of the reason the clubs been struggling and ‘losing its connection’ with the fans. Just shut up and get on with supporting these new players under a new manager and give them a chance before turning against them.
Does seem like one of the better ones...albeit other than Dennis, and then possibly Lukebakio, Louza and Kamara, can any of them be classified as a success?
No. He could turn out to be a great player for us. But it looks like the shotgun still has plenty of ammo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Am aware I’m setting myself up to be torn apart here, but what have Kalu and Kayembe done wrong to consistently be written off? Granted neither were exactly necessary signings and come from the Bayat list of signings but what makes them both out to be utterly useless before we’ve had a proper chance to see them play? If they turn out to be turd then fair enough but just feels like they’re being written off far too early on, even if Kalu looks older than all our squad combined.
