"I'm working with the football club to make it accessible for regular fans" - he has reached FTRE levels of arrogance. How on earth did the club survive and communicate with fans before this hero rocked up?

As I say he doesn’t help himself! I do think his heart is in the right place though and he’s just a regular enthusiastic Watford fan. He just has a habit of putting his foot in it.

Conversely the FTRE guys really really really wind me up. And given their age don’t have the excuse of WD18 over exuberance!

I see we are reaching an impasse on this issue.
I guess it is why the club only asked certain fan groups, vetted the 14 'fans' and confidential disclosure papers were signed.

It's clear the closed shop 14 aren't holding the club to account on the huge debt, the mortgaged stadium, the allegedly money laundering agent, high agents fees and also what happened to this years PL money!!!!! Our transfer net spend was about £15m and most of our biggest earners have left. Why havent we used the PL money to pay off the debt on the stadium???

None of the sycophantic 14 asked for a timeline for debt repayment. We can't keep gambling on getting promoted to stay afloat. It wont always happen.

Del boy Duxbury seems to have made the ridiculous claim that the debt is ok cos of the value of our squad !??!??!? This is what Peter Ridsdale was saying about Leeds before their financial collapse and they did have a lot of valuable players. After our calamatous season Dennis and Sarr are currently the only 2 players worth more than £10m. Most of our squad are currently worth less than £5m.

Why aren't the 14 stooges holding the club to account on our precarious financial situation, especially the mortgaged stadium? Why aren't the 14 ass kissers demanding the financial jeopardy is fixed as a matter of urgency? Surely it can't be because they are cherry picked sycophants more interested in using the club to advance themselves than wanting what's best for the club?

 

Couldn't agree more. I can tolerate the WD18 lot because fair f*cks, we all did some fairly cringeworthy stuff when we were teenagers (which I'm assuming they all are) and can understand them going all gooey eyed when the club pays them some attention.

The FTRE guys, on the other hand, are an absolute embarrassment. Three David Brents sucking up to a former Sky Sports presenter.

I'm fairly sure I saw one of them tweet the other day that it wouldn't be a bad thing if we went down and Luton went up because we wouldn't have to play them! F*cking what?!

The reality of the situation is the pozzo have come under a lot of criticism. They wanted a way to hush vocal social media criticism, so in an authoratarian move, they made the closed comitee. The FTRE cuck Mike guy is even being hush hush with his pals (to character).

The club treats the committee membership as a privilege. The influencers don't want to lose their privileges as its a negative for their platform. Essentially they have something on the line if they ask tough questions. They get told by their pal Duxbury the insider info. They intern give out the info to the adoring fans, spun in the way the club wants. Regular fans have nothing to lose if their critical and that can put the club currently in awkward positions.....moghi.

If there was a way to silence criticism but then say there is a committee representing x1000 amount of fans....enter ucko and FTRE cuck mike.

Go easy on the kids, they made the platform from recording themselves behind me at away games when they were 14. Ucko obviously struggles mentally but has tied his happiness to social media.

 

It was tragic watching Ucko (who i have nothing against personally) parroting Duxbury's fake spin and lies on his youtube channel. It was like watching a hostage being forced to support the ideology of his captors:

I respect Sam's openess about mental health and his general likeability as a person but ultimately his youtube broadcast was EXACTLY what Duxbury wanted from him.

 

The Club are not going to give a toss about the fans, not one second.
Pozzo has over £50 million invested in the club. He will never share any concern for the supporters. Rumour is that £80million has found it way to Udinese.
There will never be honest open dialogue with Watford FC. Why should they?
You are fooling yourself if you think the Watford owner, CEO or anyone associated with the club care for your thoughts.
We don't own the club. We don't have money invested in it. We don't play for the team.
Much larger clubs with far, far greater support have shot down moaning, complaining fans.
I admire that the fans are trying, but it is a bunch of 'yes' fans that we never make a dent. Jacob Culshaw (WD18) is just crying out for a media career
This is 2022, professional football is big business. Fans are just small fry.
I am terrible at gambling, my bets fail on a regular basis. My €'s are down on that this fans committee thing will die a slow death because in the end it is none of our business what Gino or his Dad does with the club. It is their club not ours. Painful, but true.

I see Giaretta has given another interview in the Italian media - this time saying ‘we could have done more to stay up’.

If the club genuinely want to improve communication, there’s an easy-fix straight away…getting the Sporting Director of an English football team to make these comments in English media.

He’s part of the problem. A friend of Gino can never be truly open or critical of decision-making.

A Sporting Director/Technical Director/DoF should work closely with the manager - ours rarely deals with the manager and is too close to the owner.

Seems to be the flavour the club are trying to give though given Duxbury’s supposed comments at the meeting: We could have done more and mistakes were made, but stick with us.

It's really a RE-mortgage isn't it? Use an asset you already own as security to borrow money to add on a huge extension and landscape your garden, but, on the recommendation of your pet 'consultant', employ a bunch of sub-standard contractors who destabilise the foundations of the original building and manage to turn the garden into a massive sinkhole. So then you have to borrow some more money to knock down the useless extension, underpin and then restore the original foundations, try to fill in the sinkhole and restore everything back to the state it was in before you started 'The Project'. All the while employing & then sacking a succession of 'project managers' desperately hoping one is a genuine alchemist.

But you still owe the money from the remortgages whilst your 'consultant' pockets his fees and says 'thank you very much. What's next?'

I have not seen it said on this thread so I just want to point out not all the 14 group representatives can be accused of being only in it for personal gain. The group's that promote gender and racial equality are not the same as wd18 or FTRE for example

 

I'm hearing on the grapevine that at the next Committee Meeting they will have a massed debate about being Scott and Gino's new best friends.

 

After a record-breaking defeat, a head coach talking negatively about the fans again, another step toward relegation... if I was Duxbury, I'd be scared to actually face supporters and would hide behind a committee designed to carry my positive messages too.
