Now send Kucka back and try and get Mogi to give us our £8m back for Louza and we are getting somewhere…cancel the deal for the dud Nigerian GK whilst at it.
Surely not going to “buy”a player we have sent back ?! Mind you didn’t that happen to Sunderland once ? Loaned in a player with a view to a permanent move but cancelled the loan and the authorities still ruled they had to pay a fee for the player .
Well he made an error in the AFCON so conclusions might have been drawn from that . Mind you that could be seen as a bit unfair . Let’s hope he gets here first if we go down rather than trying to do a Pape Gueye!
To be honest, I’ve no idea. But he didn’t look great in AFCON and given the level of the club he’s coming from, there’s a whiff of ‘vastly overpriced and unready’ to me.
We had to buy Zuniga off Napoli even through they had already sold him to somebody else if I recall!?? Or we had to pay his wages as if he had signed for us. Some epic mess up anyway.
Excited to watch us pay £10m for Tufan next season after Fenerbahce have given him to some Saudi club for free in the summer - and we watch Kayemebe settle into being the League One player I suspect he is.
Good, ******* useless and up there with Jurado levels of shytness Still, grade A/B transfer window during the Summer eh?
Yes - do remember that. This was in the Athletic. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/thea...20/09/18/watford-zuniga-united-wages-cas/?amp
He was far far worse than Jurado. At least he did something. This guy has done literally nothing. Takes some doing.
So to summarise, we’ve had to give one of the most ineffectual players we’ve ever had back after just half a season, but if we stay up we’ll have to shell out more for him than we sold Hughes and Chalobah for combined. I’d hate to see what bad business looks like.
It’s an ‘option’ to buy from how it reads. If we’re relegated there is no option but if we stay up it’s active. Without seeing the T&Cs it’s not an obligation to buy and only incompetence of a grand scale would there not be an exit clause. Thankfully our chaps don’t do business in that manner
I bash the owner as much as many - and given some of the other court cases, it’s easy to see why some are sceptical…. But I really doubt we will have to buy Tufan now.
He should fit in well if he likes to make individual errors Can't say I've ever seen him and have had zero interest in the AFCON far to busy watching the mens handball Euros. It's been an amazing competition. Hopefully he's going to be an upgrade on Bachmann though, is not going to be so difficult on viewing his performances this season and his attitude to being dropped.
It's an obligation if we stay up according to Leventhal. But yes, I'd imagine that's been scrapped now. Hopefully...
I wouldn’t say ‘zero chance’ with absolute certainty purely because of our recent track record of silly court cases and our propensity to fall out with clubs left, right and centre over transfers/payments. But I’d say it’s very very close to zero chance. Although given Fenerbahce had a chance to make some money on a permanent deal at the end of this season, I suspect we have had to pay them to get the loan ended.
Indeed. Hopefully Leventhal doesn’t have all the facts and you’d expect there to be conditions precedent for the obligation to kick in - number of appearances etc. Us staying up ‘despite Ozan Tufan’ is different to ‘because of Ozan Tufan’ and you’d trust someone to capture that in the contract
When I saw Tufan in the league cup I thought he looked superb. I now accept that - as many others have long realised - he is, in fact, sh1te
Whichever way you slice it, you don’t just get to walk away from something like this without some sort of cost. It would be pretty bizarre to have a condition to buy the player if we stay up but we can magically tear the contract up half way through without any cost, it wouldn’t make any sense to the parent club. One way or another there will be a cost, it might just be smaller if we go down.
Pretty sure that the Stability know what they are doing. There's no way on earth they'd get caught out with some contract clause that they thought they could ignore and end up having to fork out for. No way in hell.
Sounds like you’re rattled. That’s what us internet only superfans say as we are empty vessels. On any form of media.
I know, I know....Turkish media... https://twitter.com/yagosabuncuoglu/status/1488871825249554436 But this verified account is claiming Tufan's agent has said the transfer at the end of the season is still active and 'mandatory'.
That’s fine - we’ve got our own parking space at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. It would be a shame to waste it
https://twitter.com/Fenerbahce/status/1506966237401780232 Mesut Ozil and Ozan Tufan both excluded from the squad by Fenerbache.
