I think about half of this summers shopping trolly looks pretty decent.

    Woof woof.
    Ps TUT please.
I just like to see both sides of an argument.
As I’ve said before. Big picture. The sucess in league status over the last 10 years or so suggests that they make mistakes but get more right than wrong. Some like to focus 100% on the bits they get wrong.

In fairness, though, it's not this at all and that's what can get wearing when you constantly insist on it in response to any criticism ever - the reality is that there are essentially two Pozzo periods, pre and post-2018 (roughly), and they've been pretty consistently making a majority of poor and inexplicable decisions in the 'post' era. There is a decent body of evidence for that already, has been for some time, and it largely appears to be growing.

It's not some invented desperation to character assassinate the Pozzo for reasons unbeknownst to anyone - it's a recognition/argument that they have lost their way and are stubbornly insisting on running the club in a way that is no longer effective, allied with a justified questioning of the hierarchy's collective decision-making capabilities at this point in time.

As we have all acknowledged many times on here, they started off doing fantastically, and the model gave us some great times. But it doesn't really matter how successful they were 7 years ago when it comes to what is happening in terms of recruitment and on-pitch matters in 2022.

Why do people keep lumping Etebo into this? He’s barely been involved and was hardly a superstar when he was. Far too early to say he’s been a success.

He was decent in a few games but nowhere near a big enough sample size to be sure on him yet.

I don't entirely disagree with what you are saying, but lets just wait and see how things go after the next few months and if we end up going down I think I could end up in the Pozzo's Out camp, however if their current actions manage to keep us up I will give them praise where praise is due and continue to support them.

Having said that it might be nice if they were to sell to some new Billionaire owners

PS. Being in the PL and staying there isn’t the sign of great owners. Plenty of bad owners have done that.

    Loan terminated.

What a deal that was. Literally the most ‘nothing’ player I’ve ever seen.

Guess that is before we have to buy him at the end of the season !

    A sensible move.

What a waste of a loan move and wages though .

#WatfordFC transfer breaking Understand Ozan Tufan’s loan ended early after agreement between clubs, heading back to rejoin Fenerbahce.

Yep, here's Adam's Tweet. A punt that didn't come off, but we've done very well to get out of this agreement.

So I'm expecting the three to go now are going to be Tufan, Rose and Nkoulou. The rest will stay as the numbers work.

Let’s be honest, if there was a cast-iron agreement that Fenerbahce would get £10m from us if we stayed up, I doubt they’d agree to take him back.

That’s my thinking. Perhaps we’ve had to pay a small fee to cancel. That way Fenerbahce have some cash + the player, who they can then choose to use or sell.

Genuinely one of the worst players I've ever seen for us. He showed glimpses of something against Everton but after that it was like he'd never been on a football pitch before.

Lol, more proper business done properly.

Shrewd move from Gino though, because remember lack of signings means opportunity for others, so cancelling loans means the same as well.

Yes I’m sure “we’ve done very well to get out of this agreement” in the same way we’ll get out of Rose and Nkoulou’s deals, by paying good money to do so.

Tufat was complete crap but I'd argue this was business done (relatively) properly. A low risk move, a loan, and when the player turns out ill-suited to the PL we ditch him at the next opportunity. He's a full international who came from a club that regularly play European football.

I just think it didn't work and the fact we've managed to back out of it and avoided being lumbered with him long term shows at least a tiny lesson has been learned.

I do agree to an extent - but it is another signal that the owner is continuing to be far more miss than hit in the market. He was clearly out of shape when he arrived and never got into shape. Could that really not have been seen before we signed the deal?

I think the club need to seriously work on their due-diligence around players fitness and suitability before they get here. Another move that makes the apathy towards keeping Hughes and/or Chalobah even worse.

Leventhal is saying Rose going to Fenerbahce is linked to negotiations around terminating Tufan’s loan….

…we have given them Rose as payment to end the loan haven’t we?

    Im not sure I agree.

He was known even in Turkey for being unfit/overweight and going through spells where he lacked motivation. He was very obviously not suited to the premier league. If you are happy to saunter around the pitch while playing for Fenerbache, you are hardly going to turn it on for the cauldron of Vicarage Road.

It was a position we desperately needed to replace key key departures, and instead we took a punt on a total waster. On its own maybe not catastrophic, but it was when you combined him with the punts on Louza and Kucka.

Yep. There’s some utterly horrific decision making coming from the top at the moment. Not just 1-2 isolated examples but a raft of them. I’m not going to give kudos to them reversing one because it has already had knock-on effects.

The squad building for this season in terms of quality and balance has been so so bad.
