I think GT would approve of Roy Hodgson, especially after what we served up for him on his deathday party.

I thought before the season started we'd probably go down.

I thought once we got four wins we'd given ourselves a chance.

By Norwich I was sure we were down. Best player crocked for months, short in midfield and defence.

However...this appointment gives us a shot at survival again.

Getting something out of Burnley (points, not whippets) would be a great starting point.

Much is down to how the players respond to him and if Sarr can get fit. We need players playing to their top form and more as a team to do this now.

I heard a reminder earlier of how he used to get Kane to take corners for England, maybe he do something similar and put someone like Masina in goal instead of Bachmann to help us out?

 

A safe pair of hands that should, hopefully, restore a bit of pride in performances and make us harder to beat. I still dont think we will avoid the drop unless we get a new CB to partner Samir and an attacking creative midfielder.

I’d imagine it’s either:
a. Hodgson asked for it when negotiating his deal
b. the club wants to signal that the next appointee will be a manager and are moving towards a model with a little more autonomy for the HC/manager than before.

I do find it interesting that Leventhal suggests we approached Martinez twice this season. We are obviously keen and perhaps waiting for him to see his year off done and dusted before making a 3rd approach - maybe even have been encouraged to do so.

I'm actually thrilled with this appointment. In our situation he's the best possible candidate for the job. Knows the league, speaks loads of languages and brings Ray with him who is a great link for the fans.

I know it's another short term punt but at least with him you actually feel we have a shot at staying up

 

Was resigned to relegation but have decided to try to have some positive thoughts . If anyone can organise our defence it’s Woy and if we can limp to a few 1-0s then maybe just maybe it might not be a lost cause .

 

Will be good to see old Ray back as well
