Shouldn't be anywhere near any Premier League squad. Brought absolutely **** all to the table. Terrible decision to bring this talentless hack on so early.
Maybe not but at least he stopped the full back getting forward and having no attacking threat which hernandez couldn't do
Think ranieri was letting hernandez no that if you play poor sema comes on same with jp both are impact subs not starters
Looking at the two that come on looked like just stop them attacking ,going back to my point earlier the two that come off ,were the two that should be coming ON to make a difference in the final 20 mins ,he went too Attacking from the start and didn't go to plan
I wouldn’t go that far, he’s not a liability like Gray or some of our weaker defenders - the problem is he’s just there, doing little more than filling in space on the pitch. The only time I recall him providing anything remotely resembling attacking threat was when he nearly won a penalty against Norwich, that’s just not good enough at this level for someone in his position even taking into account his limited appearances this season. I wasn’t at the game but watched it on a stream. One of the commentators described him as someone who’ll get stuck in and offer a physical presence, and that “positive” is a problem - we need him to create chances, rather than be a poor man’s Emile Heskey.
I'm sure he's a solid professional, looks like a great guy. However, he's so, so limited. He's awfully one-footed and the Premier League is just one step too far for him. I don't even mind him being around the squad as he doesn't strike me as toxic but he's just SOooOOOooOOOOo uninspiring. Seeing him do the intense warm-up at half time knowing he was about to come on is just a total buzz kill.
Once he'd decided to change it at HT, I think he should have given JP a go out wide, and only made one sub....Cleverly for Cucho if he wanted more defensive energy, or Tufan if he wanted to try to grab hold of the game. Replacing Cucho AND JP with the 2 he did made it look all 'damage limitation'. There would've been plenty of time to hook JP if it didn't work out. I also thought Southampton started to panic a little when faced with King and Fletcher combined, so maybe he could've come on earlier. It's just a pity that the ref decided to stop dead in its tracks any momentum we were trying to build by blowing his whistle every time a Watford player encroached within a yard of an opponent. A truly bizarre display of 'refereeing'. Was he another trainee?
Has the technical ability of a League One player. Sorry nice guys finish last. His cameo was appalling . Yes he is rusty but his attempts for instance to run around a player when he was blowing out of his ******** was comical. Not an ounce of brainpower to think lets keep the ball and retain it as we're under pressure. We gifted the ball away again and again.
He has absolutely nothing. No pace, no real ability or skill, just a woeful huff and puffer who gives us nothing. He was average in the Championship, yet there were still people saying he's fine as a squad option at this level despite already showing he's not good enough before. He's absolute ****.
Even the supposedly simple task of receiving a pass or bringing a loose ball down seems beyond him, I counted three instances of that and that was all his "contribution" consisted of. I'm not saying he cost us the points and Cucho didn't have the best of games but I don't understand the logic of that substitution other than just trying a squad player for the sake of it.
He has now seemingly achieved the impressive feat of losing the pace he never actually had in the first place.
In his defence it was his 1st game for sometime, but boy he was so rusty a full can of WD40 would not have loosened him up
Who’ll buy him? Maybe we’ll give him away for free and still be stuck paying his wages for another four and a half years.
I must have missed that, possibly the most baffling decision of the Pozzo era, utterly utterly bizarre.
I like Ken, he reminds me if I had not got good o level results and decided to do me A levels in the 1970s, I could have had a career as a professional sportsman. You don’t need to be in the top 10,000 of your chosen sport to make a living.
Anyone with half a brain could have seen last season that the Championship is the very highest level he could play at. Even then he struggled in the second half of the season and was pocketed by some very average full backs. We basically rewarded a 27 year old who had a decent first half of the season with a new five year deal, when he already had two years on his current deal to go. It's outstanding work from the club.
It’s making sure we get a good fee for him, like with Chalobah and Holebas. Some classic COG excuse making from the past right there.
One of the most nothing performances I've seen, looked incapable of keeping the ball. And yes he's a bang average player, but I think a big part of the blame needs to go on Ranieri. Really not the game or the time to bring back a player who has been out for so long. Looked massively rusty
