Personally it should be like American football...the infringements are offset so the goal should stand.
Shoutout to the guy in a Ronaldo Man Utd top queuing to get into the Elton John Stand this afternoon, I'm not sure if he got in or not, but I reckon he probably had a pretty bad day either way.
Because if it was taken a third time, the club didn't want Sarr to totally humiliate himself. Thankfully he redeemed himself as the game went on.
Ah diddums poor little Timmy Sherwood. Let's hope his mummy doesn't have to come and fetch him from the pub this time. One of the few players to come through our Youth setup who doesn't have a good word to say about us. I'm sure if Tom Walley bumped into him, he would kick his ar$e.
What a wonderful performance. Can’t think of a single player who didn’t excel. Well done to Claudio and the team. Brilliant!
Impressive performances all round apart from Sarr, who continues to be well off his game. Cleverley was a man possessed - rightly named MOTM after and incredible performance. Kings hold up play was also particularly impressive.
If Ole does get the tic tac tonight, Todgers has effectively made himself available for the Utd job so it could be a good time to play them.
Not Sarr's best game but Jesus what a strike for the second. He is like the the team, he just needs to show some sustainable consistency.
Just as we suspected - all the media talk is "how bad were United", "Where do they go next?" We do get a bit of praise tbf, but it's pretty clear where the loyalty of the British Sport press are.
Has nothing to do with “loyalty”. Has everything to do with the size of the club. They’re one of the biggest clubs in the world. Just enjoy the fact that it is little us that has made the media talk about this issue.
In fairness Kiko was two strides into the box when the ball was struck, there were two Utd players on the far side too.
Stunning performance, one of the best Watford performances I have seen for a long time. (I didn't make the Liverpool game pre lockdown as it was my wife's 30th Birthday) United weren't great but we massively contributed to that. From Maguire telling our fans to do one just after the penalty was awarded to Ronaldo smashing his fists against the floor in frustration we had their number all game. Of course they had opportunities, Ronaldo is a world class player that was largely pocketed by Cathcart but he was still a huge threat and had a couple of one on ones that Foster was equal to. Thought Wan Bissaka was atrocious, basically a £50million Doyley, in a good way to Lloyd obviously. Our front three chopped and changed and largely pressed magnificently. Great to see Sarr score as it gave him the confidence after the fact until he was cut down by the impressive Van De Beek. Crap tackle though. Cleverley was deserved MOTM, he covered every blade of grass and pressed and harried a nervy back line. Was just a fantastic performance, I had to stop when the third went in, I couldn't believe how much we battered them. Superb.
That takes some brass neck. Did he leave before the end? And did you point out the exit with two fingers?
Was it really only this time yesterday that I was at a dinner party sitting next to a chap whose main topic of conversation was herbal constipation remedies? COYH!!
Tremendous game. United seemed like a Championship side from last season. How bad were they at playing out from the back, but they kept on doing it over and over while Foster simply smashed the ball down either wing when it came to him and put us on the attack again. On the negative side, I thought Sarr was pretty dreadful again. Utterly shiny shyte penalties - I thought that was going to cost us. Even his goal was semi-lackadaisical, like he couldn't really be bothered and just took a swing at it. I don't know if he's injured or not, but either way I would sincerely consider resting him for a game or two. Very impressed with Louza. So pleased he seems to be coming good. At last someone who can strike a dead ball! Great game from Cleverly and Sissoko in midfield. Super energetic and combative. Another one to score and who didn't play badly by any means, but who I thought could have done a little better was King. He battled hard enough, but really he should have had at least a couple and made some wrong decisions on a few occasions. Move of the match was that little back flick from Kiko right at the end that led to one of our goals. Luvverly! Highest altitude reached off chair - 36cm clearance with considerable secondary rebound arse bounce on the second goal going in...
I think most people around Watford think Tim Sherwood is a c**t. Always has been. My uncle use to play football with him and he has nothing good to say about him.
Great result. Unexpected points and possibly more could follow if Mr Integrity jumps ship at Leicester. Hopefully we can improve our GD ahead of our inevitable arse raping by City in a few weeks
I'm actually annoyed we didn't utterly humiliate them. We could have had 7 quite easily. Penalty that we got 2 bites at, Kings free header and countless times where we took the wrong option. Man Utd were garbage, utter tripe. We were terrific in large parts.
