***** LOL at you all getting excited about some bum from a league which Oxhey Jets would win effortlessly. If he was any good he'd have signed for a decent side.
Like being better than Hauge (the one we sold earlier this year) signing for AC Milan? Also Zinckernagel has said all year that he would pick a team where he got to play right away, he could have done the money moves to Turkey etc. And there is always Udinese as an option. Normally I would be on the "our league is bad"-train. This year I'm sure not many Championship teams would stand a chance against Glimt. Everyone no matter what club they support say this is the best team to ever play in the league, and we had Rosenborg beating Real Madrid and AC Milan when they were the top teams in the world. In the Norwegian League it is always our bottom teams that makes us look super bad. We need to cut down to 12 teams instead of 16. You can look at Glimt this year comparable to what would happen if Leicester joined the Scottish league.
RC is on the wind up KK. Welcome to the forum and many thanks for all the information you have given us all on Philip. I am sure if out strikers can learn how to attack the ball, make runs and in one case trap the ball he will be a roaring success. Glimt is an amazing success story. The fact you have poured money into the youth, hiring top class coaches for them and providing a mental conditioning coach is something which I have argued for a while we need at Watford to produce more of our own players that are more capable. The situation here in Britain is however complicated by the fact that a few clubs are hoovering up all the best kids often to discard them later. Those that escape the net like our very own Jadon Sancho are then pilfered for next to nothing due to the new rules on youth transfers designed to benefit the so called bigger clubs. Best of luck to Glimt in retaining the Eliteserien and God nytt ar.
Your English is brilliant (as expected), your typing slightly imperfect. And your info on Zinc and Glimt very interesting. Stick with the forum but don't believe much of what you read. You'll learn a lot about cheese and 1970s British sitcoms though.
So is he just Deulefeu's late replacement, or Sarr's for when he leaves in two weeks.? Probably a bit of both, but I guess it will depend on the size of offer we get... £30m he stays and £40+ he leaves.??
But if he is a winger and especially in the right he more than likely wont be playing straight away unless we sell Sarr.
Zinckernagel could play left, right and centre. He will also be drifting between all those positions in the game, unless your new coach does not like that.
I don't care if he's here to replace Sarr. Sarr is crap and should move on for both ours and his sakes.
I'm sure everyone has a price. We have a good amount of money compared to other Norwegian clubs now, but we always produce more talent, and our wage budget will always be strict. Many year ago the club almost went bankrupt, and since then we have been running the club differently. Looking at Norways best players almost half of them have been a talent at Glimt at some point. I would put a higher price tag on the coach and his staff than the players. What they did to recreate success after selling the best players every year is close to sensational. I did mention we had 73 to 1 odds to win the league in january after we sold the best players. If I was the Watford coach I would try to buy Junker also, but that will be close to impossible, Junker did not want to move to Crystal Palace or West Brom at this point.
This guy needs to play, even if it’s on the left. No harm him and Sarr swapping back and forth during games either, give the opposition something to think about.
Having seen his interview on the club site, he comes across as a confident guy, and from what he said hopefully has not been bought just as a replacement for Sarr, but possibly more as an AMF in a number 10 position just behind a lone striker with a licence to roam. He could certainly take up Sarr's position should we lose him, but equally he could also play wide left. All in all if he lives up to his last season in Norway, we could have quite a player on our hands. So lets hope that what he did in Norway last season was not just a one season wonder performance, but that it was him coming of age and blossoming into a great player.
Price tag would be super high also, considering our 2nd best striker and talent is badly injured and it possibly could cost us CL and 25 million £ for qualifying.
I don't care what @Relegation Certs says - looking at Zinckernagel's instagram, the guy is a certified, Grade A hunk.
I hope this signing marks the beginning of a new era in recruitment for us, with a focus on younger, motivated players seeking to step up to new levels. He looks an exciting prospect.
Jeez....Kasper Junker has scored 27 goals in 25 league games for Bodo/Glimt!!! Transfermarkt has him valued at less than £700k! Surely he should be on our radar?!
I would not use Transfermarkt to look at any players value in the Norwegian League right now, maybe better updated after Covid-19, but usually not Junker and Zinckernagel also shared an appartment together, so Zinckernagel was afraid Junker will forget his laundry, clean the place and take out the trash after he is gone....
Okay, genuinely accept you will know more than me on that matter. That said, and I know there’s a CL group spot to aim for...but how long do you think your side can be kept together before they seek to profit on the prospects to stabilise the club for many years? If the coaching and setup is so good, surely they others just waiting to step up? I accept Transfermarkt may be well off with Junker’s price...but are Bodø/Glimt in a position to turn down £2m for example?
Transfermarkt's valuations are absolute cobblers. For instance, they regularly state player market values as being significantly below what the player has actually just been sold for a few months previous.
We did turn down that and more on Junker last window. Glimt is in an excellent financial position right now and does not have to sell anyone at this point. We are in a buying position right now looking to scoop up Norways biggest talents competing with Rosenborg and Molde. Glimts disadvantage is a riggid wage policy, we will not pay allot more unless we can raise the wages for everyone at the same level. Ofcourse some players like to move on, and we are building up for replacements all over the squad. Some of them is ready right now.
If he was any good he wouldnt have joined a crap team. It's really that simple. If we was better than that other chap no one has ever heard of then ac Milan or equivalent would have signed him. As for your team, I've never heard of them but I've just read this: Glimt is known for the yellow kits and the huge yellow toothbrushes that the supporters carry to the matches. I didn't think it was possible but it seems there are fans out there even more cringe worthy than our own. He will certainly feel at home at WFC with our drooling hordes clapping away as fluffs yet another chance.
