Wow, another impressive bit of business. Seems so long ago now that we signed Kaboul, Pereyra & Janmaat! Adding Okaka, Mariappa & Kenedy since gives us some serious squad depth! More to come? Surely that's us done now?
Haven't followed this at all. Where does he play and how highly rated is he? We do love a good 10 transfers each summer
Ideal average match day squad: REGULAR STARTERS: Gomes, Janmaat, Kaboul, Britos, Cathcart, Holebas, Amrabat, Capoue, Doccoure, Pereyra, Success, Deeney, Ighalo. BENCH / ROTATION: Pants, Britos / Cathcart, Mariappa, Amrabat, Kenedy, Doccoure, Behrami, Gueds, Okaka, Sinclair. NOT EVEN INVOLVED IN MATCHDAY SQUAD: Zuniga, Prodl, Kasabele, Anya, Nyom, Behrami, Gueds, Watson. Obviously what I've laid out above is just in a "ideal" scenario, it's likely that Sinclair will miss out on a lot of match day squads, Doccoure doesn't seem to be fancied too much but clocks certainly ticking for likes of Gueds.
You'd think so, but I can't remember a Pozzo deadline day where we haven't signed someone. ****ing hell we've transformed the squad in two weeks. Being fussy now but another creative mid (back up for Peyeyra) and we're set for a very special season.
Yes agreed we've had a good window with cover in virtually all positions. It probably is being a bit fussy but I also thought that if we continue playing 352 (which I think we will) we don't have much cover Pereyra (although Gueds or Capoue could play there at a push) I'm guessing we've signed Kenedy as competition for Holebas as left wing back and as left sided option if we switch to 433. (If he has any experience playing the Pereyra as an attacking midfielder behind the strikers then that's a bonus!!) Gino and co have given Mazzari a bloody good squad to work with its now up to him to turn into a team that is capable of stringing some good results together.... Going to be interesting season!!! So now we have a Brazilian & a Jamaican (kind of) to add to the United Nations of Watford. All we need now is an Outer Mongolian to complete the full set.
Great signing. Given a bit of time to get up to speed, I think Walter might look to play Pereyra and Kenedy behind one striker, hence the continued interest in Boufal after signing Pereyra. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Great signing IMO. Put ourselves in the mix for Wilshere tomorrow and then I think we are done. It'll be outgoings on the main tomorrow.
I have a few Chelsea mates and after asking around about Kenedy I was pleasently surprised at how much they rated him. Looks like we have a great squad now.
I think that's where Kenedy comes in, isn't it? https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/kenedy-joins-loan
Prodl has been our best CB so far this season! And Behrami is huge for us this season. Does a lot of unnoticed dirty work and is an important conduit between Mazzarri and the players. Watch next game, all instructions go through Behrami.
Behrami looked off the pace when in possession, admittedly. Can't say I remember Prodl being especially bad - the whole defence had a first half to forget!
I think Behrami is best when used in moderation. I'd much prefer the steadier hand of Watson. Bring Behrami in if we're clogging the middle to protect a lead late, or as an occasional starter in multi-game weeks.
No doubt that's true. Even without the rust, I feel better with Watson. Ben isn't exactly shiny and new either. Hopefully they can hold the fort while Doucoure learns his business.
Apologies if already posted, but Kennedy on one year deal according to bbc. Can't link as iPad slow as ****
Seemed like a really down to earth, nice bloke in an interview on Watford Legends a few years ago too: http://www.watfordlegends.com/Peter Kennedy.html
