I always thought Harry the Hornet was the mascot, and Harry Hornet was the rather fierce looking club badge of a few years ago, and Harry H Hornet had his hand up Sooty's bot. Or was that Harold Steptoe?
Ha ha! Nice piece of word association football there GoBE!:sign15: All sorts of unpleasant allegations about WB but not sure if there was any evidence? Point takes about mascot and badge.
http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2015/07/roma-full-back-confirms-agreement-with-watford/ Will complete tomorrow...allegedly
I don't see the point in signing him. We've already got a player with the same name, from the same club and who has very similar attributes who we signed last Thursday :dismay:
Excuse me if I'm missing something - but is some random nobody on Twitter really a legitimate confirmation? I'll wait till the club officially announce it I think..... Oh wait....
Yeah last week it was official. Then it became unofficially unofficial. Now it's unofficially official.
It's a strange world we're in when people don't believe Roma/Watford/the agent's official sites, but take a comment from a journo on Twitter as the gospel truth.
Actually, I believed the official sites, and still do. This is not Ema Giulinaelininllini, or a reporter for the Daily Star sports section.
It doesn't really matter who the journo is; they're considerably less ITK than Roma, Watford and the player's own agent.
As ridiculous as it seems, it would appear that we were actually a little bit hasty in announcing the signing, imo in response to Roma's announcement. Is it not a bit strange there's no picture of him at the training ground, or an interview, like there has been with every other signing? I think the signing was as close to completion as you can get, but not quite done. I just posted the link to that tweet as I remembered the guy has been spot on with a couple of other things, and has no reason to make anything up. He seems to confirm what footballitalia have been saying about the deal in the past few days.
My completely un-ITK hunch is that Holebas didnt realise he d given his agent power of attorney, verbally agreed to go but wanted to go on holiday to let the dust settle before actually signing. In the meantime AS Roma needed to make signing before June 30th ( for whatever financial reasons) and so pressurised the agent to sign in Holebas' abscence. Upon seeing he d signed in the press, Holebas rightly got the hump , but still wanted to sign. I get the impression that in Italy players have a lot less say in their destination than in UK. It seems the culture is the presidents tend to wheel and deal between each other and the players have no choice but to accept transfer or rot on the bench
If there is any fault here it's with the agent. At worst he failed to notify his client that the deal was done. It's even possible that Holebas WAS notified but didn't check SMS messages/voicemail/email, got caught on the hop by a journo and was taken off guard. That's not on Roma and that's not on Watford. Neither club would confirm the business unless the paperwork was signed. There have been plenty of prior examples of the club not confirming official transfers until the paperwork was finalised, even though it was an open secret that the deal was done.
Lol. But on a sad note, we'll have to deal with more of these plastic glory hunters now... I can just imagine us getting three points off one of the big 4/5/6 (whatever number you use) and our forums become the temporary home of a bunch of their glory hunters who come to boast on here about their x amount of trophies and how we'll never win one etc...
I look forward to that. Be like Arsenal. "We lost because we were missing key players like Ozil"..... "Sorry, but who's Ozil? Oh you mean the sh*tter version of Almen Abdi?"
Surely there is no way on earth that 'Frenchgunners' can be anything other than an extremely uninspired troll? Either that or a child, legitimately.
"But Alexis Sanchez was injured 10 minutes into the match" ..... "Who? Ohhhh the guy that makes Fessi look like, well, Messi"
