Well I'm shocked. After Hornet Player delayed the second part of it's interview with Gino Pozzo and everything.
Sorry mate, didn't mean to dislike. ... The day a Champions League winning manager joins this club, I'll be delighted. But one that would do so on a tenth of what they were previously earning, to a mid table Championship side, would be baffling. Especially when he could easily get, and has turned down offers for, top division jobs. I don't think Holly58 is making it up, I just think everyone ends up believing things which have originated from a friend of a friend of a friend who just happened to guess it right once.
I know someone who works down the club and he was covering a function yesterday morning. He said that there was rumours that RDM was there but he didn't see him (but his boss did). He did however see Gino, Duxbury and Saninno there - apparently they left within half hour of each other and they looked furious. RDM was dressed in dark blue jeans, white shirt and looked like a cowboy without the hat. This information is really important I'm sure, but I'm yet to link the relevance of it. Could all be total rubbish, but my mate (kind of) does work there and has been itk in the past on such things as Thorne leaving, Park being lined up for a loan (we were led to believe it was a last second decision to get him - it wasn't), etc, but he's also got some things terribly wrong (like Vydra signing last summer). In short, I'm pretty confident there was or is something in it.
The hebrew meaning of Di Matteo is gift of god. Could that be a sign that Gino has been saying his prayers?
Maybe I do. But there's no harm in hoping. The one thing worse than pointless rumours are people who throw their toys out the pram over something they know nothing about either. If we are honest, none of us know anything with any certainty. So a little bit of hope doesn't hurt anyone.
The most effective way to not read threads is to not read threads. It's so easy. I have a journal delivered to my desk every month without fail. I never read it. I couldn't believe how easy it is to just not read stuff. It's like we have full control of our eyes. Amazing!
There is a fairly big difference in wanting something and getting it, otherwise I'd have a Porsche on the drive every Christmas morning instead of socks (not on the drive) I don't have a problem believing RDM was on Gino's top 10 wish list (he'd be on mine) and I don't have a problem believing the club may have approached him and had a conversation or two (as well as with other managers) But if people choose to let their expectations run away with them after reading what idiots like HP68 put on twitter then that's nothing but their own fault, the guys never been anything but a fool who does this same 5hit every year
It's pre-season. This summer will be like no other; increased expectations followed by delight and optimism, followed then by depression. That's football.
We should just be happy that we are fantasising about Di Matteo and Graham, as opposed to people like Derek Riordan
Unless we actually get Di Matteo..or even another Head Coach..or Gino Pozzo or Nani sign up for this forum and start posting, we will probably never know whether there was any truth to the rumours or not. I have no problem with anybody who says it's all a load of rubbish, because personally I don't know if it is or not. Most of us on here can probably claim to 'know somebody who knows somebody at the club or in the media who might know something' etc etc! In addition, most of us are guilty of being fully-fledged members of the social media gossip network too. We wouldn't be on this forum if we weren't! So one post/tweet from somebody saying 'RDM in talks' and it spreads like wildfire and becomes accepted wisdom..just as one tweet yesterday from somebody saying 'deal off' leads to lots of other people saying 'I hear the deal is off' etc.. My own take still remains that I believe we are/were interested in RDM..as La Tempesta puts it so well 'why wouldn't we be'!. Personally, I've heard it from too many people I trust (both here and away from this forum) for me to think it's not true. BUT, I fully appreciate people might say of me 'well he would believe it wouldn't he, he's hardly been Beppe's biggest fan'!! We shall see!!! In the meantime, the world is still turning....
Of all the people on this mortal coil none of Roberto Di Matteo, Danny Graham or Derek Riordan do I fantasise about. Ever.
What are you on about? Nothing ever happens on a Thursday FFS. But wait! Tomorrow is a TUESDAY, not Thursday! Watch this space.
Yes, it conveniently works its way to the top of the new post list every time you reply to it. It's one of my favourites, well done you
It's quite funny, last week I actually shared a crate with Roberto's pet echidna on a long flight from London to the South Pole. We got chatting about RDM's next potential career move and all the echidna said at first was 'don't believe everything you read'. I pushed him further and he eventually let slip that they had had an argument about the suitability of the Hertfordshire climate for a monotreme habitat. Make of that what you will.
