Im angry Paddy, angry at the way this season has been handled by all involved. We sell and we OFFICIALLY GO DOWN A WEAKER SIDE TO THE ONE THAT CAME UP.

So we'll have a few quid in the bank, great..... we wont be spending it!

Of course we will, the board offered Aidy the cash in August and will again at the start of next season. Weather he spends it or not is up to him and he made a mistake in august choosing not to spend it.

The board have been faultless as far as the transfer side of things have gone this season and it's about time you gave them some credit.

    Kj no medication today son.

I am a Watford fan through and through always have been always will be, I am passionate about the club.

But lets not forget the club is a business not a bottomless pit.

If we could get over £6million for ash that is great business nearly £10 is superb.

Get him sold, however my fear now is he will stay and that his value will fall quite sharply.

If you are all honest he hasn't been great all season, very mediocre.

Kind of a dumb question maybe:
What will the club do with the 10 Millions?

    Buy new players?
    Invest in the stadium?
Invest in player development at the Academy level?

Buy rounds at the Red Lion?

I'd hate to see the cash go for naught but swelling the old coffers.

KJ - relax and take a look at the longer term startegy. Yes we may go back down, in fact we will, whether or not Ash stays and even if Marlon had not got injured - the fact is this league if far to good for us over a sustained season of 38 games. Ok we may like many other fizzy pop and lower league teams compete in a cup tie or two but over a season, we aint good enough. All the funds of Ash should be given to AB to improve the whole squad, none should be skimmed for ground dev etc etc.

3 or4 decent players with premiership experienc would give the squad better strength whilst the youngsters come through.

At least having a few quid in the bank means when players are availabae we will be able to compete in their signing.

Godness me KJ77...have we had a bad day?

Ofcourse IF we sell Ashley some of the money will be spent on new players

Aidy will probably demand it to be or he will go which the board do not want.

Any club like us would accept a big bid for a young player with potential from a Premiership side...

I personally think the board should be praised for not just giving in to the first bid we got to be honest.

Ofcourse there will be always be those who think Watford are a big club who must have great players and should never sell.....

Young has not even been in the top 3 of best players this season and is only worth about 3-5 million.

ahhhhhh you lot are alrite really!!

Yeah im a little anti board.... there are too many discrepancies that i havent forgotten and i think they got off the hook a little when we went up.

Not saying they're dirty through and through but they're certainly NOT honest with us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (theres my issue in one!)

I'll be a little more honest shall i..... i was absolutely SICKENED by our display against Liverpool. Utter rubbish, no worse than that, shocking.

I can honestly say that my WORST ALL TIME TOP 3 displays by a Watford side have occurred THIS SEASON! (Liverpool being one of them!)

Not acceptable..... no where near acceptable! We;ve almost got a big squad of players now... selling Ash removes the only bit of genuine quality within that squad!

2 - where he scored most of his goals is not where his best performances

Erm ok. I'd have said goals were the target for most attacking players but seems I've been wrong all these years

No, but now you've started me on it I'd say he should score a damn sight more than he does!

As for Young...he scored lots of goals when up front last season. I actually think his impact lessened once he went back to playing on the wing. This season he has had little real impact in either position - even though some of the stats say otherwise.

If he's genuinely turned that down then he'd definitely expecting another offer to come in....

Much as I like Ash and feel he's going to be very special in the future, a £10 million offer is staggering. £10 million? I still find it hard to believe West Ham or anyone would pay that much for him, it's an absolute fortune.

I'm reliably informed that his value will be increasing overnight to £12million.

    Keep turning em down Ashley!!

Hot off the press, the West Ham bid has now NOT been rejected!

Simpsons been round his house pleading with him!!!!

    Taken from the Guardian
"It was suggested yesterday that Young had rejected West Ham after their £8m offer plus another £1.65m based on clauses was accepted. However, the 21-year-old's advisors have indicated that those reports are incorrect and a deal could still be agreed, with Young believed to favour remaining in London. Tottenham and Villa both remain in the hunt but both clubs will need to significantly increase their current bids to gazump West Ham."

One of Tuesday's papers (the Guardian) now say that Ash hasn't actually turned West Ham down and reports that he had are incorrect.

Well who brought the 'rejection' to the attention of the press then? Either it was Watford playing amateur press games (again ), Wet Spam's lot or Young's advisors. Whichever way that deal seems pretty dead. Regardless, I still think all you rejoicing lot further up may be about to get a taste of yummy humble 'I told you so' pie.
