Xisco must feel like that bloke who turned up for a cleaning job at BBC and was interviewed live on tv for being an expert on something he knew nothing about .
He looks and sounds very jolly and enthusiastic doesn’t he ! Just hope the players take to him . He praised Troy so that will give him a week’s grace .
Most people learn to speak another language by translating what they want to say in their head and speaking it out loud. It can lead to things sounding a little "off". For example, I lived with a bunch of foreign students at Uni and helped a few of them by reading their papers. They would often include things that were syntactically very awkward even though they made semantic sense, because they were close to literal translations of normal speech patterns in their own language.
Munoz in his presser (ignore Affleck stealing a living unable to even get his copy correct/checked): This is very embarrassing.
At a pretty gloomy time there are some good things looming from the darkness: Will Hughes back in training. He presumably had Covid and has now recovered. So he is immune. We won't lose him again for the foreseeable. We now have head coach whose name begins with 'X' for the first time in our history. That's pretty cool. Time to start daring to be positive for the aforementioned reasons.
Carrying the party line there ... Trouble is probably gets asked about Deeney and doesn’t know what to say himself .
It wouldn't surprise me if Munoz has Deeney as part of his coaching set-up. To be on the inside, rather than just a player. I think he'd love that and I think if he's invested in this way, you may see a different player on the pitch, really motivating the team in every match, instead of when he is just in the mood for it.
You say that, but have you ever seen gerbils fight? They are brutal and when they go for each other they turn into a frantic ball of fur that bounces off the sides and roof of the cage. I had to separate ours and the ******* sank its teeth right into my finger. Had to squeeze its skull to get it to release.
That is extremely optimistic given he seems to get injured at the drop of a hat these days. (He'll probably have an injured foot now after dropping his hat on it.)
Interesting article/press conference. Certainly seems have lots of optimism that the players are suddenly willing to die for the shirt - if he's capable of that in 2 training sessions, then brilliant! I do like the fact he's said he told the squad they've been 'amazing' for him so far...I think this is the type of thing they might actually react positively to. Embarrassing comments about Deeney at times but to be expected. Given the past few days, it's obvious any incoming coach is under a remit to play him anyway and he was always going to be asked the 'Deeney' question today. The club are falling over themselves to tell us he's an attacking coach and the words from the man himself seem to back this up - very much get the impression that he's going to just ask us to go at teams and it may be a case of 'just make sure you score more goals than them'.
Having just had a coach who seemed happy to score the same as the opposition providing that number was 0, I would take this!
It is (well other languages too), it makes perfect sense in Spanish when translated literally. I think we're the odd ones out as we say "at the moment".
Guy Goma? What a legend! Although it wasn't a cleaning job and he made a fair fist of the interview so here's hoping... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Goma
Assume if he is a 'we'll score more than you' type coach, everyone on here will be forgiving when occasionally it goes wrong and we lose 4-2...
Compared to losing 2-0 at Huddersfield when you know we wouldn't get back in to it. At least if you're more of an attacking side you have a chance of clawing back deficits. I'll be amazed if anybody thought that we would get something at Huddersfield when we went 1-0 down let alone 2-0
He's super positive which is obviously good, but it's not real world. Right now he has a clean slate. 2 or 3 defeats in quick succession will quickly wipe away that positivity, then you're left with someone trying to be positive but players thinking....yeah but what does he know apart from being upbeat. If he was a top player, like Zola, then he would get respect for longer, but when he's been an average player in Spain, then I'm not so sure. For them to respect him and believe in him, he's got to get good results early on, or else it goes downhill very quickly.
Deeney's a legend forevermore, Sacks coaches and a media bore, He was dropped at Hudders away, Said **** off Ivic, on your way. Come on you Deeeeeeens! Deeney FC, the team for me.
Hmmm. Maybe this will be the basis for the new club motto under XM? 'Gerbils together forever' 'Where gerbils dare' 'To dare is to nip a finger'
Agreed. Maybe a lift in atmosphere and spirit around the squad is all that's needed. Hopefully he doesn't chop and change the starting 11 unnecessarily too.
Sure, but realistically someone has to brief him on the strengths of our own squad and the threats from Norwich's. Munoz is being asked to coach blindfold at he moment. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
I seen his first presser. I like him. Would have liked to see someone who actually has experience of some sort in there, and I think its a ridiculous choice, but can't blame The Kid for that. Main phrases so far i've picked up is: "I'm very happy", "Fight like animal" I'm bizarrely excited to watch on Boxing day as I think it'll either be a huge surprise and different to Vlad, or a massive car crash - A reason to drink either way.
