smith has been really poor, he can't cross, shoot, pass, keep the ball on the pitch... you know the basic football skills, why is he there??? as for priskin... i think he's a great player, or will be with a bit more experience & he can score (unlike some forwards)

    I beg to differ.

He's one of our few players prepared to run with the ball and keep the ball on the deck and able to receive/pick out passes and as I said earlier if he can't cross then where did the first goal against Blackburn and the only one against West Ham come from?

And if he can't pass or keep the ball on the pitch, then neither can Stewart, Mackay, Bangura, Francis, Mahon, Macca, Hoskins, Hendo, even Bouazza on current form or most of our team for that matter - any more than he can anyway...

what does it mean for a player to be honest? i don't remember any watford observer features about smith and a briefcase full of money.

It really depends on what people choose to see i guess.

in my honest opinion i think smith is the worst at keeping the ball on the pitch and this is the reason i began to dislike him in the first place. It seemed to me that everytime he had it up the opposite end it would magically turn into a goal kick.

but its just my opinion, im not saying im right ;D

He does sometimes run the ball out of play but my point was at least he tries to keep it on the floor, unlike too many of our players who currently seem content to boot the ball into the air as soon as they get a touch as it it were a hot potato or something.

yeh ok ill give you that! I am getting a bit fed up of this "lets play hot potato with the ball...whoever lets it hit the ground first loses!"

It means someone who tries and works hard and plays for the sake of the team and club even if he isn't the most skilled of players, and not just the money despite doing fcuk all most weeks - in other words, someone who isn't a mercenary, unlike a certain ex-Norwich/Wigan midfielder who will only be with us next season in the Championship because no other club in their right mind will want him!

Springy evidently had a great game on Saturday, with Newell saying he is a changed player since his return - tracking back and eager to win the ball in defence.

Whether he was saying this to annoy us is unclear - but it didn`t sound like it, it was more like his changed personal motivation and all the things he has learned from Aidy.

Lets knock our players why don't we - have you all lost your dummy's?

The fact is we are not good enough for this league - this was proved after the first 15 games when we had won only one and scored very few. It was only a matter of time until our defence started to fold having held up extremely well, then we had no chance.

The squad we have will walk the fizzy pop league next season.

Our bonus will be winning the FA cup - as overall for the season, we deserve more than we have got.

It's not the lack of quality that's annoying me it's the lack of passion and spirit! C**t's like Francis strolling around the pitch wondering which car to buy next!

But they were all wonderful v blackburn and wet spam.

too many changes in the team, lack of team concistency due to all the changes. Lack of width on Saturday and general organistaion.

They were 'wonderful' because they showed a good attitude! Francis actually ran around for a bit in both those games (miracle's do happen)!

Aidy certainly hasn't been sheltered from any stick from me recently! I made a thread saturday after the game about how poor his selection/tactics have been!

He's trying to sign too many lazy players and turn them into workaholics! (Williams, Kabba, Smith and Francis)...sadly alot of the time these kind of players will go back to being lazy and it effects the whole team!

Last season we had passion, drive, pace and skill! We lack all of these things at the moment...hence the reason we didn't muster a shot on target against a truely awful Bolt-on Blunderers team!

Bubbly - we have had a load of passion and drive this season especially away from home ( i beleive our poor pathetic whinging so called home fans have not helped us this season at home) - its the fact that we are not good enough even against the average to poor teams in the division, where we lose by the odd goal let alone the 4 quality teams who have all mullered us in tequnique, skill, strength and fitness.

Why do you think we lack these things - because a team losing week in week out gets mentaly drained, the disappointment for me was Aidy changing the winning formuler ( bar injury's) . For me it is not about attaching blame and calling individual players shyte.. at the end of the day the person who is responsible, doesn't even kick a ball. Aidy's lack of experience has really shown this season and i am sure he would look at constructive criticism objectively. But persecuting players on a game to game basis isn't the players fault, its AIdy for picking the team and tactics used. When I heard the team for the Manure match, i went from being positive to knowing defeat was imminent. We had no chance with the team he sent out. He says he plays to win every game and picks a team to do so. In my eyes i could not see how that team selection at OT could win, let alone score. I feel AIdy is going for damage limittion in his team selections. We should go all out attack, but instead we are playing deeper and deeper. We must use the width but not long hauls by Bozo but by passing out wide. Why don't our players run for each other of the ball like manure and arsenal do. Always giving an option to the player with the ball. With hindsight our long ball tactics has not worked and we should be getting prepared for next season fizzy pop champions season and the FA cup final this season.

Perry, I think we lack pace because we don't use the wings enough, we're too happy to look for the easy/lazy option of hitting crap long balls to Henderson rather than use the wings/space and stretch teams like we did last season!

I think we lack passion because there are too many lazy players in the team in key areas!

I think we lack drive because we're playing like we're relegated already!

We lack skill because like you said, we don't look to pass the ball and give our team mates options for a return pass...our movement is minimal to non existant because we play long ball football!

Boothroyd needs to take a good, long look at himself and his selection/tactics!

I do agree with alot of what you said aswell though...confidence is draining and Aidy is inexperienced!

If a player is not physically equal to another player - does it make him lazy or just slower?

If i go to your gymn and can only do 10 push ups and you tell me i must do 20, am i lazy if i can't do it or just not physically strong enough? These premeirship players having seen them live actually have surprised me to the difference on levels of the premeirship and lower leagues.

I'd say you were lazy ;D

Seriously I don't buy that with Damian Franics...he's been in the Prem for 3 seasons now! He should know what to expect...Wigan fans said he was lazy and had a poor attitude as did Norwich fans aswell! He gave an interview in a magazine recently which gave a really arrogant view of him!

Sheff Utd and Reading have players in their squad that have never played in the prem before (paticularly Reading) and look where they are! I think using players fitness levels as an excuse is a poor one!

None of our players are lazy... they are just rubbish. (apart from a few)

    Oh please...so Francis isn't lazy?

Honestly I don't think he is lazy. It just looks that way because we play awful football and most the time I has to run around the pitch like a headless chicken trying to get the ball. Also he is bloody slow, so immediatly people think "god hes just stolling around doing f**k all."

If we changed our style we would see the best out of Francis.

You said earlier - "He's trying to sign too many lazy players and turn them into workaholics! (Williams, Kabba, Smith and Francis)...sadly alot of the time these kind of players will go back to being lazy and it effects the whole team" -

So is it Francis only you have a problem with about laziness? How can you comment on Kabba, Williams and Smith certainly does put the effort in, but may just not be good enough.

We are fit, i am not using fitness as a point, i AM USING the fact that premiership players are stronger physically and technically thus not making our players lazy, just not as good.

Kabba flapped his arms around like a woman everytime he lost the ball at Manure (sheff utd fans say he has poor attitude and is lazy)...same applies to Williams aswell (poor attitude and lazy but very talented)!

I'm sorry but Noddy doesn't put enough effort into protect the right back! He's usually out of position...he was a lazy **** when he left us the first time and he came back a changed player...recently he's looking more like the Smith of old!

Well what's your point regarding fitness then? You said about doing push-ups and not being able to compete with others in terms of physical ability? My point is Sheffield Utd and Reading have coped...why can't we!?

I never said anything about our technical ability...I will NEVER slate a player if he's technically not sound, but i'll always slate someone that puts no graft in!

Look at Mahon...he's got about as much skill as my Nan but he works his socks off...sweeps up the midfield and usually has to do Francis's job aswell! Mooney is another example, no skill/technique but a worker!

"My point is Sheffield Utd and Reading have coped...why can't we!?" because Reading are technically and physically better than us. Sheff Utd are a major surprise to me, I suppose i didn't expect ewt spam to be doing so badly.

Reading won the fizzy pop league by a huge margin, have a squad of players who in the main had played together for a few years and Sheff uTd similar but not as good and have surprised me. We had changed our entire squad, back room staff around in 18 months, we wre not prepared for this league. Also Colins managerial experience is showing whereas Aidys inexperience is showing. Reading have done fantastically well and good luck to them. They have a chairman who has backed them with a stadium and funds for players over the years without going bonkers about it.

"Look at Mahon...he's got about as much skill as my Nan but he works his socks off...sweeps up the midfield and usually has to do Francis's job aswell! Mooney is another example, no skill/technique but a worker!" - - - yes and we lose. Mooney actually has got skill. Francis i agree, i cannot see what Aidy sees in him, he is my only disappointment in the signings. Cost far to much for what we get in return.

Regarding fitness - some people are naturally born athletes - the players at Arsenal. Manure, Chelsea these players are the top notch sportsman. Then the other teams have the next best, not quite as good as the top notch but superior to the rest. Unfortunately WFC are the rest this season, due in a large part to our lack of experience and age. Boys may put up a good fight but ultimately the men will win, in a collective battle.
