Why Sell Spring .. Why Drop Smith/Priskin

Springs replacements 'as good as - at best !!'

Smith - blows hot and cold, still a matchwinner on his day.

Priskin - As he started to show promise ... dropped 1st to the bench and then beyond.

Is it is a case of Adey justifying his new signings or has he seen things in training that we haven't.

Not sure that he really knows his best team anymore as so many of our squad are about the same level ie one division below the one that they are playing in.

On the plus side >>>> things will improve !!

 

I for one was glad to see smith not playing, but what i cant understand is why there were no wingers playing if he took him off?! we need players who can beat the opposition and cross the ball!

Aidys tactics dont make sense to me on the best of days but i was just baffled today

I was shocked that smith wasnt even on the bench! He might of made a slightly better sub than mcnamee (why bring on the smallest weakest player against the biggest strongest team in the prem)

well i think smith has been really average at best since coming back. my grandma can cross better than him sometimes and shes in a wheelchair. hes also often scared to beat his man.

 

To be fair to him though Aidy agreed that it was a silly decision by the ref so it's totally baffling why he's subsequently been dropped.

 

Priskin has had long enough to show what he can do, I'm for playing the new boys, things cannot get any worse.
I'd have left Mahon out!

 

Aidy also sees him every day in training. I think he has a pretty good idea of his capabilities by now.

Priskin = the new Jamie Morallee.

 

Neither Hoskins or Priskin are going to be any good if they are expected to win that sort of ball all the time. I actually feel sorry for Smith, even though I hate him, because he has been made to look a worse player than he already is because of the way we play.

I can't believe some of the stick Smith is getting here!

So people can't stand/hate him and were glad to see him out of the team - why? He's a good honest player, Watford thru and thru, whatever you may think of him skills-wise works hard for the team and even if inconsistent usually tries his best. Was it really such a wise decision to drop him in the absence of a recognised right winger?

Don't forget in our two wins last week Smith set up two of our goals last week with two vital crosses and who's to say that we would have won those games if he hadn't played? I know he had a stinker at OT (against one of the best teams in Europe) but which player outside our back four didn't, Bangura and Foster apart?

As I said before I believe Smith being out of the team left a big hole creativity-wise on the right. We missed Smith's running off as well as on the ball and link up play and I might even add probably the only reason Mariappa looked good was because he was trying to fill the void created by the ineffectiveness of Williamson/Kabba or whoever was meant to be in the right midfield position.

Whatever his technical limitations, Smith is a good team player and without him the team looked unbalanced and frankly we wouldn't have been much worse off playing with 10 men!

Let's hope this hatred directed at him is only because of his ability as a player (still unwarranted though IMO) and not as a person...

If Smith shouldn't even be on the bench, then surely the same could be said about Hoskins, Hendo, Mackay and on current form Mahon and Bouazza (I know dropping Francis goes without saying)?

 

Is she available on a `free`? We can get her some fresh batteries for the mobile.;D

Foster didnt play at maure. I agree with all these points- yes hes not a quality player, but hes a decent hardworking honest player who gives his all. Hes sometimes ineffective, and this seaon has had poor finishing, however he does not deserve to be dropped.

 

There is no way Tommy Smith should even be at Watford Football Club, never mind the starting 11
