No I was describing your statement as nonsense. He had one fight years ago up the town when he had been on the drink went to prison and served his time and has apologised also how do you know whether Troy thought that the victim had a knife or not? Since this incident he has done lots of charity work and opened up a foundation for underprivileged children with learning disabilities and life limiting illness, his raised money for a sports area at Garston Manor School. Troy and Mariappa seem to be quite close friends and I am sure in private he thanked Maps sincerely. Since Troy has been captain we have been promoted and finished in our highest ever Premier League position and managed to stay in the top flight for 5 years. I don't think we can put last season relegation on him, there was many reasons for that. I personally wouldn't say that he has failed as a captain, he has achieved more than 99% of the other captains that we have had throughout our history.

Clearly there r 2 schools of thought on Troy. The most important thing is that he leaves this summer so we can rebuild without his ego getting in the way.

This thread is now getting very tedious, just seems to be a vessel for blaming Troy for the incompetence and lack of professionalism of all the football related staff. I agree that he has not warranted a starting place based on his current form and fitness, but during his 10 years at the club we have spent millions of replacement forwards ( Gray, Success, Okaka). It seems that the lack of quality competition necessitates that Deeney has to play and this is clearly shown when he is unavailable when injured.
Can we just end this thread and start being more positive

Plenty to criticise Deeney about on and off the pitch but opening up about mental health and therapy is a good thing. It's part of a wider campaign as well so he was probably asked to take part.

Happy to be dense if it means more people speak out about it.

Deeney could come up with the cure for corona virus and some **** on here would 'guarantee' he saw an opportunity.

Getting criticised for raising awareness for mental health and racial equality. You can definitely learn something pretty obvious about those who get so angry at that.

  9. What exactly is the problem ? Why does it matter if at 32 he's getting loads of air-time. He can be a great role model coming from thecommunity, background and issues that he has, and now talking a lot of sense very eloquently about getting priorities right, family being most important etc etc ? Why does it bother you so much Dev and Bubble ? Criticise his performances on the pitch, fine, but this ?
