Aslong as he doesn't take the pish with wage demands then yes i'm happy!

I've always said he's the type of player that if given a consistent spell in any side would score goals! He's a decent finisher! I remember a goal he scored at stamford bridge last season or season before! Brilliant!

He wouldn't make a statement like that if it wasn't a done deal, ah announcement to be made tomorrow afternoon to **** off the WO

Aidy will want to sign him ASAP, so lets hope we all come home to find out he's signed ;D

I'm not so sure tbh. He made a similar statement last week, just after talks had broken down, saying that he had outlined to John his vision for the club and that he hoped John will come around and agree to join us. The deal certainly was not imminent then.

I hope you are right though.

Also, with Sheffield Utd. surely now out of the chase, I'm not sure what other options will be open to John.

It could just be so that if the deal falls through we will at least not be able to accuse Aidy of not doing everything he could to try and persuade him to sign.

Exactly. I don't think it's indicative of anything other than that.

I think we're almost showing him too much respect! He's good but he doesn't warrent us making a big deal over Aidy talking to him!

Are we going to have too many strikers ?

Strength in depth is one thing, but Priskin is finally showing some signs of form, Ashikodi scored on his debut and Hoskins looks like he could score in a nunnery.... plus Doris is the only tall one and Marlon may one-day play for us again... possibly this season.

Collins John will obviously expect to be number one striking pick so we only one of the above players will get a chance to start for us.

    Unless Aidy has decided to go with the relatively rare 2-1-7 formation;

    Demerit Shittu

    Mahon or Williamson

Smith Priskin Henderson John Hoskins Ashokodi Bouazza

Guaranteed to improve our goals-scored category even if the goal-difference is not improved. The last time I remember a team playing this formation was the playground when I was 7, but it worked pretty well then so who knows.

We're turning into Colin's sheffield utd with all these strikers

I can see Aidy off loading King and maybe Henderson in the summer...

didn't mboro play a similar formation for about 20 mins last season in the eufa cup when they were losing to a swiss team on aggregate and ended up going through.

Henderson will only leave if we stay up. Otherwise he's proven himself to be a very useful Championship striker.

Yeah it kinda makes sense now doesnt it.... we have a ton of strikers at the club now all vying for essentially TWO places.... I just hope this Hoskins is as good as they are making out.

UEA and lowerous.... ur both bang on about the club though for once I'll hold my hands up and say fair play for letting is know whats going on.

Doesnt look good though does it..... seems to make a big deal out of Collins John being smarter than your average bear and "trying" to see things from his point of view (ie we're bottom, why would he sign if we're going down)

Very strangely worded article IMO.... reckon it was edited about a thousand times before it came out!

Smith will i feel stay in the right midfield role which he seems to be getting quite proficient at after his last two outings.. bouazza can play central midfield and henderson doesnt deserve any more chances.. kinda narrows it down a bit John Ashikodi Hoskins and Priskin
Out of those the only one i think that would guarantee a start if he is fit would be John and the others would likely rotate.. cant see the problem personally

"I don't know if Collins is speaking to anyone else. All I can do is concentrate on my own sales job and describe to him how I see his career moving forward with Watford FC. I firmly believe we can be a platform for him to realise all his dreams, both internationally and domestically."

Aidy seems to be trying to sell John hard on joining - not much like an interview really.

You`ve got to trust him because he doesn`t make many mistakes but I rate this a big gamble - for what may be only 10 -1 2 weeks.

How refreshing though for Aidy to come out and update us on his progress on signing Collins John!

He is certainly not a conformist and believes in doing it his own way, I would Kinda hope that on listening to Aidy, Coliins John would have liked what he heard and signed up straight away.

The fact that he has gone away to think indicates to me that he may not come, it would be easy to get carried away listening to Aidy (knowing how positive he is) but on reflection John may decide we are not as an attractive proposition as AIdy makes out, it would also entail him putting a lot of faith in Aidy and his plans.

Having said that I have faith in Aidy and believe that everything he says will come true and part of me thinks that if John is not as enthused by becoming a Watford player as Aidy is managing them then we may be better off without him.

I DO WANT HIM THOUGH, LOL!

Well how much faith did we have in Aidy when he first came out with this "big club" nonsense? Not much I have to admit. But I was proven wrong in a manner that makes me think that man A). IS a football genius and B). CAN turn Watford into a top 10 club - just like Curbs did it for Addicks.

The thing is though - CJ hasn't experienced what we have. He will probably react like we did when Aidy first came in.

As for wanting to come here - if his motivation comes from the threats from Coleman, how committed to the cause will he be? I'm torn on this one - he's as good as we're likely to get and young. But I fear his mind won't be on the job - and as he's prone to laziness maybe we're better without?!

Like I said B4 my friend at work is a Fulham STH and they can't wait to C the back of him as his attitude is poor and he is lazy.

Hope it falls thru and we go for someone else.

If Aidy was confident of him signing after their meeting would he make this known? I doubt it.

Maybe this is just an exercise to show everyone how hard he is trying if it all falls through. If Jobr's contacts are to be believed, and WFC tried to nickel and dime the guy, this may be a PR effort to deflect criticism.

Either way I don't really care. If Aidy gets his man that is fantastic but whether CJ signs or not will not make or break our season. He is not that good to turn things around alone.

Time will tell , if he scores 20 goals and helps to keep us up we will think he is the new mesiah and will think he is worth 10 times that amount .
