According to "The Sunday Mirror" Harewood 6m - Zamora 5m - Etherington 5m - Konchesky 4m - Mullins 3.5m - Quashie 1.5m - Davenport 1m - Pantsil 500k - Dailly 350k - Carroll "Free" - Boyer - "Free" Curbishley is also thinking of getting rid of Reo-Coker and Ferdinand, no amounts quoted for them though. What do you think on that lot? should we go in for any of them?
Harewood possibly though its a high price to pay. And Davenport looks good value. The others are no great shakes. Especially for multi million price tags.
Use your head mate, why would a Premiership club want those two? And why would they have an equivilant value of £3m?
indeed he's truely shocking. i remember his first game at the vic, sliced the ball out more times then doyley, shocking first touch and got absolutely rinsed by the fans for being sh*t.
Carroll on a free could definitely be worth a shout, he has been a class keeper in the past, so maybe under Alecs wing he could regain his past form?
They all look very overpriced to me. I like Zamora as a player, Caroll has issues outside football that mean he is a risk, Davenport is a complete liability in defence, Etherington would be OK at the right price.
Just like Mahon at Brighton around 3-4 years ago. They were cheering every time he got the ball. Bowyer would be avery good signing as would Mullins but i doubt either would come.
the one i would most like is hayden mullins, good solid midfielder than can do a god in defence aswell.
Pantsil was even rubbish for their reserves when I saw them against us, he defended well but distribution was awful. None of those would really interest me apart from if we could get Dailly on a free as even though he is past his prime, he could be the 'Malky' type of player to gell the defence for next season's promotion push. Davenport had his chance I believe to join us and turned us down so would not try him again. Etherington and Zamora are players I would like but money wise they are stupid fees, Carrol with his personal issues would be too much of a gamble and I would never set foot in the Vic (i probably would of course otherwise I might have to go shopping on a saturday!) if that thug Bowyer ever came to us.
Could someone, in an non-forum-shutting-down kind of way, enlighten me as to what Roy Caroll's non footballing problems are?
Doesn't Carrol also have problems with the drink? I know he has gambling problems big time but heard that as well
Surely the price tag for harewood and zamora is the wrong way round? Both would be good signing but either or as we do not want to be the West ham second team. Mullins sprung to mind instantly he would be solid. I kind of hoped for someone with a bit more potential than Carrol (wishfull thinking i know.)
£6,000,000 for Harewood? I don't think so somehow. If someone offers £3,000,000 he'll be off. I'd offload Henderson and Kabba to some nothing Championship club like Burnley or Cardiff and sign Harewood. Also off that list i'd take Mullins. I think his wages would be suitable for our club, he won't be on mega bucks! Bowyer would be good at this level but he'd want ridiculous wages! Harewood upfront with King next season...frightening!
Carroll has "issues"? We haven't got a gambler... I think we could use one. We have: Car thief Alcoholic Knife boy Shittu rejected a life of crime for footy Bangura had problems in Sierre Lionne Henderson has an inability to play football
Did not know about his problem, but as you say cude, he should fit in well with our disfunctional family Aidy will sort him out with his :rulez:
I bet Henderson would easily score a few for 'nothing' clubs (who will probably beat us now you've said that) whilst I don't think Kabba would even be suited to Sunday League football... 3 million for Harewood...if we are going to spend that much on just one player maybe we ought to get in somebody more consistent? Quashie is a good Championship player but likes to get relegated (even more surprising the Hammers stayed up then!)
