Let's recap. Sheff Utd W 1-0 ok performance overall but deserved it and was seen as a good start to Rob's "Come Hell or High Water" tenure. WBA D 1-1 should of lost but took a very unlikely lead through a wonder goal then hanging on to a not at all deserved point. Burnley W 1-0 Tom Clevs of all people to bag a winner in a tight game with little to choose between - we just about held out for a win. Brum D 1-1 the Deeney derby and probably our best performance of the season over a 90 minute period. Should of won but a point away is never bad. Preston D 0-0 king of the nil nils we had chances to win this but so did they. An off kilt performance considering how well we played previously. QPR L 2-3 entertaining game for the naturals, but our defensive frailties began to really show here. Unlucky to not to have a last second leveller count. First loss under the Edwards rebuild. 'Boro W 2-1 really special night for the club celebrating 100yrs at the Vic. Poor game between two average sides won by unlikely hero Bayo with a litteral last second goal. Nice to win on the occasion. Rotherham D 1-1 another very poor performance on the road, falling behind to an awful goal right from kick off. Did well to equalise but tailed off after that. It was the start of our nose-dive. Blackburn L 2-0 at the time, our worst performance of the season. Dreadful from kick off and schooled from the first minute to the last. Edwards looking tactically inept again with poor subs and no plan. Sunderland D 2-2 another entertaining game at home but one we should of won. Leading 2-1 through an OG, we let it slip in the dying seconds due to brainless defending. Poor result - Edwards sacked. Stoke W 4-0 really poor despite leading most of the game against a (then) appauling Stoke City side who were as bad as we are now. Louza inspired subsitution and we romped home with a very one sided scoreline. Swansea L 1-2 Bilic faced defeat and we had a very strange second half where the officals had a case of Y2K with their technology. Fell behind during 17 minutes of stoppage time, never even tried to equalise. Blackpool L 3-1 another pitiful performance on the road saw us get hammered at the seaside. Be it through sickness on the roller coaster pre game - we floundered around conceding some shocking goals and a Kabesele nightmare. Norwich W 2-1 Best first 45 mins since Brum we stormed into a 2-0 lead only to be pegged back at the break. Held on to a welcome and deserved three points. Millwall L 3-0 Worst performance I have ever seen being a fan. Louza off injured outplayed by a well drilled Millwall who had more passion than we did and steam rolled us all game. Disgusting showing from the lads. So - there is a quick recap of how we have done so far this season going into the Derby. Shows a lot more lows than highs, with our current trajectory in a downward motion. A team that cannot string even two wins together will get nowhere. We have managed back to back losses though. Expect a repeat very soon.
Took me a while to work out what they were on about! Have never heard of it called the "G word" and thought they meant gay then God before finally twigged.
Now is the time for the players to stand up and be counted, but sadly I expect them to have the strength and fortitude of a piece of very wet cardboard. To them it's just another game, and if it gets difficult they will revert to type and give up.
Its actually occurred to me a lot of problems begin with G. Gino, Giaretta, Giraldi, Gray, Gianluca, Gassini (presumably that was his name before he changed it). Obviously not GT though.
A chance that Gosling will play in midfield with Gaspar back? We definitely need some experience and bite in the midfield. At least he should be fit and up-to-speed now that he's started the last few games at right-back. Would certainly have him in over Kayembe. Then again, i'd have my Nan in over Kayembe and she's been dead for 12 years.
Some optimism here, you think we'll score a goal. Based on the dismal performances at Blackpool and Millwall, our unimpressive home from and L#ton's excellent away from, it pains me to say it but I'm predicting another 0-3.
Losing to them is an awful experience and one I have seen many times. We have been in far worse positions though
Wow. I’ve been out of the country for a while, but I’d never have imagined saying that would be considered a hate crime. Odd.
At the end of the day we have to respect the feelings of the travelling community they don’t want to be associated with the ******** that is Luton Town, I can understand that.
As someone who's parents come from an Irish travelling background I agree with this. Also the word isn't offensive to me or even my Dad who supports Watford and has never been upset about the "G" word.
I think specifically it’s the derivative ending in O I have a good friend who calls himself and his family gypsies. He talks about that and uses that term. The derivative ending O is used in a derogatory way, similar to calling someone from Pakistan that derivative ending I. Both are racist and any sensible, civilised person would understand the reason to avoid the use of such for a group that has suffered persecution.
Thanks for that, but I left all that sort of thing behind me years ago….oh, I see what you mean! If only these last few days were a countdown to ecstasy.
