Only if you give me the results of the 46 league games from next season.

Glorious wasn’t it. Thank goodness we don’t have to worry about a pointless cup while we are trying to stay in the best league in the world. Pearson is an absolute genius.

That semi-final win last season must have upset you greatly.....still it was all put right in the final....so happiness restored.

    Nice try.

why are you writing off the rest of the season when we only need goal difference to stay up?

We played Villa on Tuesday and it would have been ludicrous to play any of the players who started in that game tonight. We are not in a position where we can risk first team players as we have already picked up a number of injuries. We never missed an opportunity in my opinion, our focus needs to be on staying in the league and a cup run would have been a distraction. Also is playing Man United in the 5th round of a cup that no one at the club gives a s**t about really that glamorous?

Obviously I would prefer us to win but it's the situation and circumstances we find ourselves in and I fully agree with Pearson and co's approach.

Well I always like to be different. I only like it when we win and hate it when we lose.

Actually you do have a point. If seeing Watford lose gave me pleasure then I'd better happier a lot more often. I do envy you a little for that.

Wasn’t guff, genuinely thought we would smash them. They are terrible. I’m more embarrassed about losing to Villa than against Tranmere. Villa are shocking.

Everton aren’t that much better. At home we should win. If the fans actually supported the club through thick and thin, and made some noise it will help. Most wait until we score before they start singing. If we go a goal down, it’s quieter than Highbury, not that the Emirates is much louder.

So I am confident of a win against Everton. If the players want to stay in the league then they will put their lives on the line. Pearson will have the fired up.

HB gets a lot of stick but that's because he wears his heart on his sleeve. whilst I don't always agree with his emotional opinion he can be very perceptive. Ie his views when Gracia first came in were spot on in hindsight

Wasn’t there nor did I watch this game. Listened to commentary on club app.
Sounded like Tranmere were just more up for it and so they should be with a glamour tie on tv the reward for knocking our u-23’s out.
If we put the fact most u-23’s have struggled playing senior teams in the lesser competition this season then our boys done pretty well. Probably let down by the few senior players playing with them in this game by the way our commentary team described things.
I’m not to fussed were out. Did I want to win yes I think a cup run would of been good for morale but now we can concentrate on Everton and picking up a vital 3 points. If Tranmere can go on and knock united out it won’t look to bad.

That doesn't make a lot of sense with him being a sub at Tranmere - unless that was just to make up numbers with no intention of using him.

Oh also, can we stop asking for Bachmann in goal. He was atrocious. Time for Dahlberg. Bachmann needs to go out on loan or be sold.

Pleased with that. Had we be playing Man U at the weekend the temptation would be to field some first team players, and risk injuries for a pointless cup run. If we did field the same team against Man U , we would get well beaten, even against a poor Man U side. Last night just proves that our 2md team are not all that, and we really need to be looking to add 1 or 2 new faces in the window.

What's the point of a cup run when we are 19th in the league and Man City in there who always beat us?
Good job the distraction is out of the way. Pearson also described the senior players as being excellent so sounds like they did their best in the circumstances.

I've never wanted us to lose a game, ever, and that included last night.

But I agree with others that an FA Cup run is a distraction, and our current plight in the Prem needs every ounce of attention.

I think this defeat will turn out to be a blessing.

Difficult to get an informed opinion from a radio commentary, but I don't think many of our fringe players did particularly well against lower division players, which is concerning.

Pearson picked out Gray for a bit of credit, but I didn't hear him mentioned on the radio, apart from when he managed to mess up the 2nd half restart.

Surely last season showed that even fantastic FA Cup wins have zero correlation with league performances (or if anything an inverse correlation with them) - you appear to be conveniently forgetting that our massive drop off in form and confidence came directly after we beat Wolves.
