If someone came in for doucoure in Jan? I think I'd possibly be ok with it... with Quina and Capoue and Chalobah and Hughes and Cleverley available.

Great performance, albeit against very limited opposition.

    Quina superb yet again.

We should ignore the score line: they were two freak goals to concede, disguising our compete dominance of the match.

Their player was so obviously offside for the final goal, I have absolutely no idea how the linesman didn’t see it.

I liked the additional aggression that Cleverley gave our midfield. Javi will have to earn his money by creating a tactic which contains 7 or 8 midfielders, at this rate.

Not having a go but just don’t see Deeney’s performance like that, thought he was all over the pitch and leading our team well, think that he gets the team going and keeps them in shape, when he went off at 3-2 I was really starting to dread the outcome.

What’s also interesting is we are all doom and gloom (me included) but we are 9th and only 1 point of 7th , it really is a very tight league (apart from top 6!!)

Oh and Garth crooks is a nob (watching bbc1)

  5. Quina.

I mean, West Ham fans must be really bemused.

Great win. Scoreline absolutely flatters them. Should and would have been 6/7-0 had they not disguised Buffon as Etheridge. Blatant cheating by them.

Good to get back to winning ways, as performance have deserved more in recent games and finally we got the win the performance deserved.

Was shocked to see 5mins extra time at the end. Against Everton we were done by an outrageous 6 mins and today 5mins was just as outrageous. Thankfully it didn’t come back to bite us.

We complain about the refs, but these lino’s need to be fired as well.

West Ham must be kicking themselves for selling Quina for £1mil. Bargain of the summer.

Anyway, I can enjoy the rest of my day today.

West Ham next and I think we can get something.

Played very well for 80 minutes and could have been 7 up by then if not for their keeper. Last ten mins was typical Watford. All in all a good game to watch with 4 great goals.

It’s difficult what to think after that.

Why do they put us through it? Sitting on our hands and grinding nails down to stubs after leading 3-0? I know their second goal was offside by miles and their first was fantastic.

Ok that’s the negative. For the rest...

What a performance! Great goals, fantastic play all around bar Deeney who was a passenger all game. Can’t really complain that we didn’t deserve to win that, the final score though looks as if the game was a lot closer, which is unfortunate, but hey at least we held on.

Credit to Cardiff for never giving up, very Warnock side and full of fight. Under Slither that would of ended 3-3.

Quina brilliant again, great solo run and goal by Delafoo. Ref was good bar their second goal. That could of cost us three points today, Quina won the game for us on a masterful display. There are sill obvious issues at the back overall but Holding on was all that matters.

So pleased to end our winless run. Four points from two games back in the top ten. Other positive Muff lost.

Great display all around by almost everyone under atrocious conditions so extra credit for that. Well done Gracia, great support from the fans again.

On to Wet Spam. Iffy record against them but not impossible. Beat them and we could have a very Merry Xmas.

  10. 3-0 up cruising... men against boys... is it possible to have more than 100% possession?.. then WTF?

TBF Deeney did well today. Don't get why Gracia brings on Okaka, is he even staying come Jan? Would have made far more sense to me to bring on another centre mid to kill the game.

3 brilliant goals, 4 actually as Cardiffs 1st was decent.

Quina - what an outstanding young talent.

Relief to get a win at last.

A bit embarrassing that we Watford didn't really know much about him until he turned up on our doorstep just before the transfer deadline.

Only way I can imagine that they weren’t flagged offside for the 2nd goal is that the ref/and or lino thought it deflected off a Watford player on the way through. Inexcusable if they just missed it.

Quina was good. Build play at times was outstanding. We’ve previously found it hard to break down teams like Cardiff, but this year we look more able to keep the ball moving while we patiently wait for the right opening or channel of space. Once that path opens up, the passing gets more incisive and we spring into action. Ripped them apart at times. A sign of a growing maturity in our attacking play, and possible only because we have guys like Del, Bobby and Quina who are comfortable on the ball in tight spaces.

Good win, somewhat soiled by the last 10 minutes. Should have never been that close.

    We go again.

Supposedly we knew him well, just didn't think he would be available. That is how the decision to sign him was made so quickly when he turned up in our car park !

As for that Deeney, he should take a long hard look at himself after what he did.

I think Duxbury had to ask someone if he was any good when he turned up. Maybe he doesn't get so involved as I thought he did.

Superb performance today - really inventive and patient throughout and carved through them time after time. Can’t understand how we were left to feel nervous for the last five - that performance was about as dominant as it gets.

Major gripe today was the regular but predictable shouts I hear around me in the stands - ‘swing it in’, ‘get it in the box’, ‘go wide’!!! I’m convinced some Watford fans will truly never be happy with a higher standard of football, and long for the days of direct football to return to Vicarage Road. I get it if the passing is sideways and aimless, but today we were effective time after time.

Yes no reason for Duxbury to know him. But whoever he asked couldn't believe he was there and was available for £1m but just concerned there wouldn't be enough time to get him signed up. So the story goes.

Cardiff fans were a scummy bunch. Lots of stereotypical hard men abusing people walking past and saw one stood in the middle of Vicarage Road having a p1ss against his own bus.

Best referee performance for a long while. He let a lot go for both teams which let the game flow to our favour and was consistent for both teams, calling fouls only when it didn't benefit the fouled team to play on. Lino on LGT side had a laugh with crowd during injury break.

Edit. Just seen offside call. ffs

Great performance, harder than it should've been but got the three points so who cares.

Foster was really good, one excellent save.

    Lovely finish from Holebas.

Pereyra was warm, should've scored twice and has to be on freekicks moving forward. Faded rapidly though. Weird game management at the end where we put him in the corner to hold the ball rather than Okaka or Success? Strange move.

Deulofeu excellent and one hopes he can bring that level on a consistent basis. The goal was sublime but I was screaming at him to lay it off to Pereyra. What do I know!

Quina excellent. Thought he was a #10 but he's showing Kante like performances in the middle. Love his willingness to try through balls, they don't always come off but love the youthfulness to his play. Think he'd be even better in a midfield 3 with two of Doccoure, Capoue, Chalobah & Cleverley either side of him. The team's delight at his goal was the highlight for me, great unity there.

I actually thought Deeney played well, when we don't force the ball to his head he's actually a good footballer. The midfield and widemen were keeping the ball playing tiki taka, Deeney got involved and that's where he looks best for me to be honest. We know he can see a pass and find it so I'd rather than try route one rubbish with him.

    Thought Success cameo was awful.

Very confused by Okaka sub - is he part of the squad or is he off in Jan? Cleverley over Chalobah when trying to secure the points is also alarming for Chalobah's prospects. Gracia not fancy him? I thought they both deserved minutes when we were 3-0 up, bringing on Okaka seemed silly and pointless and nearly backfired.

Much needed result and some great football to match, feeling good! :)

It was good to see him back and he appeared determined to get involved, but although obviously he can't be expected to be fully match sharp straight away I was rather concerned that he appeared to be running through treacle.

It appears as if he'll have the opposite problem as Chalobah, who physically seems up to speed already but has been more timid and hesitant in his mental approach.

Chalobah hasn't shown anything in his cameos to suggest he warrants a starting place ahead of Doucs, however hot-and-cold he's been lately.

Yeah he appears to have lost some bulk since joining us and he appears livelier and sharper as a result. Still shouldn't be in the starting 11 ideally though.

Doucoure needs dropping, his passing was shocking again

Javi needs to start getting his substitutions right, bringing on both success and okaka nearly cost us. Deeney done well today, did he need to come off?

He is a strange player but Sema going off opened that wing up. A petulant Deulofeu wasn't helping Kiko out, whereas Sema covered well with strength. Balance was very good before the subs.

Quina a gem. Throw Wilmot in defence I say, can't be worse than what we have!

Tremendous game of football. Can't wait for Match of the Day!

Deserved 3 points but went about it the hard way. Deulofeu was our main attacking outlet with his pace and directness. Pereyra was disappointing and his head seemed to have dropped as it wasn't his day. In my opinion Javi should have replaced him during the second half. Quina was our main midfield player and has the confidence to play forward creative passes. Doucouré wasn't bad but is often quite predictable in possession. He needs to move the ball quicker and be more positive with the ball. Nonetheless he put in a good shift. The main issue with Troy is that he doesn't pose much of a goal threat at this level and that was the case today. It would have been good for Troy to get on the score-sheet against so called 'lesser' opposition but he did reasonably well linking play. Kiko I thought played well with his main assets being his acceleration and speed on the right side. Sema was assured on the ball and looked to take players on. I think he has more to show but was wary of his defensive duties which he did well to cover Kiko. Great goal by Holebas who was also solid.

Cardiff's first goal looked unstoppable from a goalkeepers perspective but we backed off defensively. Couldn't see much of the second but it looked very messy and unaccomplished defending as a team. It seems Chalobah is quite a way down Javi's pecking order and really might struggle to break into the side. I don't think Javi's subs were right today which reflects in Cardiff's second half comeback. I thought Doucouré and Pereyra should have made way when we went 3 goals up.

Overall very happy with the 3 points and some excellent build up play in spells. Need to gain more consistency without concentration levels dropping off in the latter part of games. So much promise in this side but at times can be our own worst enemy. With our squad we should be going to West Ham confident and hopefully get at least a point from the match. We are gradually cementing our place in the middle of the table which is where the club currently should be.

You are right. It was a frustrating score, but after their second, if anything was gonna change it was gonna be 4-2.
