Afternoon all City fan here, can't see anything apart from a Watford win today. Due to injuries and other priorities we're literally playing a 4th rate team. Our reserve team we played against you in the League cup is now our first team & our 2nd team are knackered with the big fixture build up. We have 3 academy debuts starting today with another 2 academy players starting. Excluding Flint, Mags & Smith I think our team has played about 40 minutes of football all season between the other 7 of them. From our forum, OTIB: "Looking at the two team selections, if Johnson turns this bunch of youth players into a win I'll consider it comparable to Jesus feeding the 5000 from a handful of loaves and fishes." "Still definitely our least important game for the rest of the season." "Wouldn't it be incredible if we managed to pull off a win, not only over higher-league opponents again, but with a team of debutant kids...that'd be one hell of a story. Up the City!" "Would rather Smith had been rested, but hey ho" "Think it shows our ‘reserves’ were a little sronger/experienced in August. Also greater numbers as 4 of that side injured at present." "Exciting that the academy lads are getting a chance - also shows how bad our injury list is!"
Thanks a lot. That's really going to make me feel better when we give up and allow you to score at your rampant pleasure towards the end of the game.
Strong side but still only one up front. The Championship is Deeney's level if we are being honest with occasional glimpses of premier league quality.
It’s kind of you to come on here and post all that, unfortunately over the last few months the more probable it’s been that we should win a game, our resulting performance has been diametrically opposed to it.
Even we can’t lose it from here...can we? Although 2-0 yo and we bring on Richarlison?! Why take the risk given our injury record to date? Can’t understand why Gray hasn’t come on either... And surely Mark Hughes has to be sacked tonight if Coventry hold on?
Just adds credence to the words of the psychic who cost me £100 for a reading when she said she was sure Watford would be playing at Wembley come April. I knew she was talented.
As RookeryMike said: Routine win. God those two words sound good. #watfordfc Couldn’t put it better myself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nothing to see here. A confidence-shot Prem side beats a Championship side who were resting their entire team. Troy's return of a goal and an assist is a positive. Other than that, it's a nothing sort of match day.
I wonder if we'll all be saying how pointless this game was when we're running around Wembley in May "with our willies hanging out" as the popular 60s terrace song went?
