We definitely need to find a right back who is more physically robust. The number of times he is shielded off the ball, shrugged off and dispossessed is far too many.

The reality is 40 points is a myth and normally 36 is more than enough.

We need 5 more points and we stay up easily.

The very least you can ask for in a relegation scrap is effort, and we put in a right shift today when perhaps our application has been called into question of late

To be fair he probably expected to break something doing that.

    He did too.

Burnley could have said the same thing about their game vs us though. Thankfully this time for once it was us that had a forward on the pitch with a bit of movement and occasional quality capable of doing something like that (as opposed to being lumped with the lump).

I don't think it was a bad game deft of quality, Bueno's goal was well taken. What was encouraging was the unity and understanding of the players like Sarr and Welbeck tracking back a lot when defending,
We looked resilient, it certainly helps when you play as a cohesive unit.
I'm very happy on how we responded to conceding a goal and the players were positive and believed in themselves. First time we have won after going behind this season?

Great goal from Welbeck but really we struggled to beat the worst team in the division. Any kind of villa resurgence could see us relegated. Hard to see many more points coming in now.

No point in being critical of the performance. I don't give two hoots about how good, bad or indifferent we were. It's all about winning that game, and we did it. How we did it doesn't matter. I'm so please for Welbeck. He's a star player, full of this sort of quality, if only we can keep him on the pitch, then that's the type of thing you can get used to.

We need to do the same against Newcastle. It moves on to that game and we need to win, no excuses. Do that, then we're in with a very good shout of staying up. Obviously a lot depends on Villa and Bournemouth's results, and I hope our win doesn't push them to new levels. They need to remain crap and hope we win one more game, of which Newcastle is the most likely.

Watched the first half and thought it was big improvement in effort alone. Created some half chances. I'm not a big believer in this they don't care what happens and I thought we played like a team that did play but were so concerned about making mistakes. When you're on a bad run and you're that close to the bottom it must play on your mind but commitment wise it was miles better
We will need to be better against Newcastle and West Ham but hopefully it gives the players a morale boost that was so desperately needed
I didn't watch the second half as I had a bl00dy work call. I barely listened to anything anybody said, all I could think about was the game. I was sat with my Director so couldn't even check the scores!
I gave up after Southampton and I convinced myself I just didn't care anymore. I honestly wish that was the case but apparently I do care quite a lot.
    I'm exhausted!

Yes. His terrible crossing is less damaging than his terrible positioning and powder puff challenging

Troy Deeney, has been a great servant for our club, but I have to put the emphasis on HAS!!!

I think the time has come to say "Come in No9 your time is up" Thanks for the memories, but it's time to say goodbye TD No9 :)

We have 2 games left that we might get points from. I think 5 points is highly unlikely. If we can get ahead of west ham with 2 points, I would be very happy.

It all depends if Villa or muff surprise one of the big clubs if not wouldn’t be surprised if another draw would do it.

Kiko would be very good with a midfielder in front of him, not a forward/winger like Sarr. But conversely Kiko and Sarr do link up well down the right going forward. But I worry about the 2 of them defending the right against the likes of Man City or even Newcastle.

Having watched the highlights again, it just makes you wonder how football teams with millions of pounds can be so poorly prepared. Every free kick and corner we've had this season, we've tried to hit Dawson. Yet Norwich put their big lump Klose on that well known aerial threat Sarr, leaving Dawson up against some small child at the back post. Absolutely comical.

Better that than he breaks his neck when he lands, he is injury prone don't forget, and we need him for the rest of the season.

Deeney is a busted flush and we should take whatever we can get for him but I fear it will not be much. I know a Spurs scout who when Redknapp was manager said he was going to a Watford game to buy Deeney. I saw him later that day and he said he would not give two bob for him as he lacked effort so it is not a new thing!

I just can't see it. They had a stinker against Sheffield United. But they still are picking up points.

Wasn't a vintage game by any stretch of the imagination, but given the circumstances (3 month training hiatus, inevitable rust, poor confidence, empty stadiums and a struggling team) the effort put in can't be faulted. Hopefully with a bit of breathing space the team will relax a bit and start to play more. Over the last few games you could almost see their nerves a lot of the time.

Regardless of where you sit on the is he/isn't he good enough question, Deeney looks unfit and out of form and needs to be dropped for a game or two at bare minimum.

First 5 minutes was quite dire, and there's definitely a question to be answered as to why Sarr wasn't constantly running against two booked players for the entire game. On the whole, though, we did what was needed and now we've put enormous pressure on Villa and Muff before they play against teams who should beat them comfortably.

Inevitably, of course, Spurs or ManUre are going to drop the ball.

Neither did I. I made Mr HH go to a different room to watch it. Seems he has a different view to some on here, though, as he thought Cleverley and Femenia played well. (he also said Deeney was poor)
