Originally posted by Spiderman Well I will take a lot of persuading on that point. It was totally premeditated and there now must be a call for retrospective action if the ref reviews it post-game. As for the scummy "fans" on the Watford forums who defended the assault because it was Zaha, they are a disgrace to football. Wonder what their opinion will be when Pererya is taken out I rest my case just seen this on one of their forums: Capoue has gone up in my estimation after that tackle Think he's now Watford through and through if he hates Zaha enough to try and ruin his career. How scummy can you get, still if you support an irrelevant club... this sort of thing must float your boat. Absolute scum My bolded bit to highliight the breathtaking lack of self awareness on Palace forum. Nobody gets this forum, do they? We are wasted on football.
I might be a scumbag, but at least I don't burst into tears like palace supporters because nasty wasty capoue did a nasty whoopsie on poor didums Zaha What a bunch of annoying pathetic children, shame they weren't drowned at birth
Honestly surprised more of the bait posts on this thread weren't quoted over there. There were a fair few belters.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/chef-turned-footballer-ben-foster-13147173 Foster's impressed with Javi it seems
They've gone on to suggest reporting Capoue to the police for 'common assault'. Worrying times for Etienne.
In live speed it looked like a nothing challenge but slowed down and yes viewed from every angle it looks ugly. But there is no way there would have been all this fuss if Woys hadn't made his comments before the match, which imo were an attempt to get the ref on side. Seems the comments backfired but my respect for him has decreased. Palace fans are well aware they are a one man team.
They're writing to the FA too to demand action. I expect his ban will end up measured in months rather than games.
Going by what I've read on social media, and from official media sources with an obvious Palace bias - I can't remember a team's supporters taking a defeat so badly. The sulking, crying, whinging, sanctimonious horseshit that's being spouted is off the scale. The had two or three good chances early on, which they spurned. They were then outplayed and put to the sword. Their best player was anonymous, not because he was affected by the worst challenge in the world that failed to even tear his sock, but because he wasn't played in his most effective position until about the 75th minute. They also missed a sitter at the end which they shouldn't even have had the chance to score due to the appalling goal kick decision given in front of the Rookery. You lost, Palarse! Have a bit of dignity, and get over it. It's embarrassing. Jeeezzz.............
Was this before or after Zaha tried to deliberately injure Capoue with an achilles heel kick to the bottom of Capoue’s foot?
Mmmm maybe these Palace fans and the media have a point. I mean, I can’t recall any other footballer ever doing such a bad challenge... As such I feel I need to act... I revoke my support of WFC. I will make my family revoke their support WFC. I will endeavour to ensure Capoue is put into prison, or at the very least I will spit on him if I see him on the street. I will ensure if ever Zaha is involved in a game he is lauded for his contribution, and surprising ability to make his eyes appear bigger than anyone other eye ever created. I will quit my job and run a fanzine to point out how pure and clean Crystal Palace are as team (and dare I say a life style and religion), so they are never incorrectly tarnished in any way what so ever. I’m afraid this is probably my last post on the forum. Goodbye
Actually... COME ON YOU ‘ORNS! WE GAVE CRYSTAL PALACE A GOOD BEATING!!! ... back to normal everyone...
This is the only other option that came to mind when responding to the original post! We are limited if Deeney or Gray gets crocked. If both out at once I may get a call up.
No, you are right, and it was not televised, and it was not raining - much, and the trains where running.
Agree entirely. Only one way to wash this blood off our hands is if we all, to a man, go on their forum to say sowwy. I mean sorry.
Eddie Izzard! Neil Morrissey! Timothy Spall! Ronnie Corbett! Richard Wattis! David 'Kid' Jensen! Jo Brand, can you hear me, Jo Brand? Your boys took one hell of a beating, your boys took one hell of a beating!
The Palarse home game 10 years ago was the first match I took my lads to. Their clearest memory is the reception accorded to Colin.
**** off palace. You got what you deserved. One player team, managed by an elderly owl. We nullified you and that diving cheat zaha. Why can’t any team accept it when we beat them? Boo hoo run to mummy and cry when little Watford beat you, it’s not FAIR is it
