Did you prove that there was someone lighter than 9 stone or that Rooney wasn't 9 stone. Admittedly I've never met the granny shagging Shrek lookalike but unless he's 4 '3" he's a darn site more than 9 stone. I would tend to suggest he is very dense.

Both. He's clearly always been more than 9 stone when playing football, plus there were several slight players at Man U at the time who were unquestionably smaller and lighter than Rooney. The fact there was 2 variables is why it was an un-winnable argument - If we said Rooney was more than 9 stone, he was still lightest Man Utd Player, if we said Chris Eagles was lighter, he was more than 9 stone, therefore heavier than Rooney.

He's a good guy though, just has trouble seeing the wood for the trees sometimes.

After yesterday when i sat in my seat the whole game with nothing to get excited about-a bit like v Palace on Boxing Day I thought I would look back at some of the comments after a pretty dire game in the second half of last season-before we were safe and QSF knew he was off. I picked on Stoke and just one poster at random-well it mentioned a few things I thought about after yesterdays game.

The spine of the team around that time is the same-Gomes/Prodl/Cathcart/Capoue/Deeney/Igloo. For Anya you could read Amrabat. We know Jurado/Suarez were about and Behrami/Holebas were out of favour and Abdi was being played out of position. Watson added some steel.

What has changed since then-still no pace or driving forward as those we bought in to improve this-Success/Janmaat/Pereya were out. Last year we failed to beat any of the top 6-this season only Man U so far. The performance was not good clearly yesterday and there is nothing new in saying injuries have affected the plans we had and maybe Walter is struggling with both the language/motivation but that spine of the team should have done better.

Only in resurrecting a post from last season after an equally poor showing against a team hovering around our level does it strike me that not a lot has changed-maybe thats why in terms of results Walter is only marginally better than H2 QSF. If that spine overachieved last year as being mainly championship players, the recruitment policy brought in new blood to improve. We have not seen enough of that new blood consistently to see any real improvement thus far.

Patience is a virtue they say-lets give it a try for this month at least
