Not so sure, Stoke strike me as being a turd that can't be polished. A bit like Watford but slightly more rotten.
So we can’t query what you write as I did originally? My bad, I thought the forum was to discuss things.
As for the game I'm hopeful we might win. But it's the Championship between two fairly even teams so anything can happen. Out of interest would people rather have Stokes squad or ours? I'd rather ours. I confess I'm pretty ignorant of stokes squad so my preference is completely uniformed.
I think you’re mistaking this site for ‘wfc forums. Com’ the site where you discuss all things Watford . This is ‘stream of consciousness without reply .Watford.com’

It will be interesting to see how we react to Tuesday’s poor performance. Personally I think we play one game too many over the festive season. The PL have reduced theirs to three matches and I wish we did too. I feel Tuesday, Friday, Monday is too much and there is bound to be some tiredness tonight. I’d expect Val to freshen things up. Bayo will most likely start today. Maybe Porteous comes back in. Hopefully Andrews starts. It’s in midfield I worry though. Livermore-Kayembe-Kone have (until Tuesday) looked our best trio there recently but it’s asking a lot of them to play again tonight and then again on Monday. I hope everybody has a safe journey tonight and enjoys the game btw!
For me, the next 5 games is the season. Hopefully it will be the season to be jolly, but it could also turn into the winter of discontent. Stoke (h), Plymouth (a), Premier League Bristol City (a), QPR (a) and Sheffield Wed (a). If we go on a bad run now, we’ll be in the thick of it down the bottom. 4 of those 5 are all relegation candidates and we cannot afford to allow those teams to catch up ground on us. Alternatively, we could pick up a lot of points, there is that possibility to do so. We have the opportunity to put any relegation doubts to bed and to start looking towards the top end of the table. After the Bristol debacle, I fear the worst, but of course hoping for the best.
I'm not sure why you are so negative, what Tuesday showed us was that if you have too many players having a bad day, you get beaten. From what I've seen since the October international break is that we have a mid table Championship squad and we will finish mid-table. There are 8 clubs worse than us but about 6 clubs better and we will be in with the other 10. Please dry out your linen.
Did the PL ever have 4 rounds of fixtures over Xmas? I think it's just a product of the PL having fewer rounds of fixtures to fit in overall. And the EFL being limited in the number of midweeks it can use in the Spring because of UEFA's nonsense rules about avoiding CL clashes.
It was a balanced piece, not negative at all. I posed both sides of the situation. Not sure what’s up with people on here recently. Misinterpreting or twisting meanings. It’s quite strange.
Agree about the midfield. I think the last 2 games have been Livermore's poorest. I noticed he made a few errors against Blackburn which weren't in his earlier games and though VI was right to sub him. Maybe tiredness as he's been generally excellent.
Very strange behaviour. I wonder if there’s any common denominator to the strangeness that could provide the opportunity for insight and reflection. Back to football out of the teams you mentioned, whose playing squad would you rather have theirs or ours? Listed below for ease of reference; Stoke, Plymouth, Bristol City, QPR and Sheffield Wed. I'd take our squad over any of them but I am little biased.
Hmm maybe you’re right actually. Memory fade etc lol. I thought sometimes they had 4 depending on which day of the week Christmas fell. So a Tuesday 25th December for example would allow for four fixtures. I think this fortnight will highlight where we are weakest, numbers wise. We have two keepers who’ve both played this season, three strikers who’ve all got goals, and some different options on the wing, but I think look a little light in defence. So rotating might be hardest there. Happy New Year to you btw! I hope life is good?
Yes it is strange. A clearly balanced piece labelled as negative. I’ve not seen that particular poster before, so it was probably an honest misunderstanding on their part. I think our squad is crap, and no better than any of those clubs you’ve mentioned (imo). I’d certainly swap our squad with Bristol as they looked a division above us. There are some decent players at QPR too. The only thing that separates us from them (currently) is the work VI has done with the players. That could be on the brink of levelling off now, but we’ll see if we bounce back tonight, or play like we did on Tuesday.
As tonight will be just our second repeat fixture of the season, I believe it will show us how our team has developed over the past few months. Stoke were the first side to best us this season, back in balmy August. Bachmann was in goal and I can’t imagine many of us thought he wouldn’t be by the time the return fixture arrived. Morris played left-back. Louza was seen as our star midfielder. Kone and Kayembe were nowhere the starting eleven. Sierralta was seen as our defensive midfielder, but missed this match. Rajovic hadn’t joined us, so Bayo seemed an automatic pick. Oh and Healey was still only a sub
From my perspective, I’m not so sure it will be an indicator to see how much we’ve changed since playing Stoke. The last game was our worst performance of the season. So the yardstick would indicate we’re going backwards if we just look at that match. Stoke are a basic Championship club, just like us. If they get the breaks on the day, they’ll win. If we get them we’ll win. There’s not a lot to choose between us. All I’m looking for is a reaction from Tuesday. I think that’s all we can hope for really.
I don't know whether Boxing Day makes me more or less nervous about this, we are still within striking distance, but perhaps such a big defeat puts everything in perspective and shows us that we're not ready for anything more than mid-table. I'll go for a relatively bright, but also frustrating 1-1 draw
Relegation are you serious we are absolutely not getting relegated or will be nowhere near relegation..we probably only need 6 more wins to get to 50 points which is around the points tally that ensures safety
