Wow Saturdays and Tuesdays/Wednesdays are dull without football - I have had to resort to gardening.

I’m nervous but think if we have anything like the spirit before the break we should be fine.

Three games in 7 days coming up, if we win all three automatic promotion must be pretty likely.

There's too many players playing on Wednesday night. I can't see them being considered for our match less than 48 hours later when travel time and recuperation is taken into account. I don't think this is fair at all.

The best we can hope for is no injuries and places for them on the bench at best.

I hope we win but we could stumble to a draw with the missing internationals and the injured.

Bachmann is a keeper anyway and hasn't played either of Austria's first two games, I would imagine he'd be able to play (besides, even if he's not, we have Foster who was our #1 up until recently). Masina is due to play tomorrow, mercifully in Morocco rather than Burundi, and didn't play until the middle of the season so you'd hope he'd be fit (but even if not, Femenia can switch to the left and bring Ngakia back, rather that than Lazaar). WTE is also playing tomorrow, hope it'll be a nice calm game for him, although the travel will be something. If not fit Sierralta and Kabasele both stayed behind and trained together, and are possibly our two best defenders, albeit Sierralta and WTE has proven to be a fine partnership that I would hesitate to break up. Other than that, it's only Sema really who would be in the first team, Sweden are playing a friendly on Wednesday which is far from ideal as he might get a game then, although at least he hasn't played either of their qualifiers. After a few weeks ago where he looked as if he was blowing out of his arse, he's picked up his form again, so he would be a big miss, although I have been banging the drum for Hungbo in recent weeks

I can only see us smashing these, 4 or 5 goals for us.

I am assuming this is only on Hive Live?

I probably wont even waste £10 of my money watching another 6 nil victory. Pointless waste of time when there is no contest.

Yes, but Sky have Barnsley and Reading cutting each others throats afterwards, then you can cheer on Birmingham against Swansea and Huddersfield against Brentford the following day.

There's got to be better than half a chance we'll hit double figures against these chumps. Can't argue with a quid a goal.

I agree. We were all pleased that we could extend our lead over our challengers until the penny dropped and we realised that the Friday game puts us at a disadvantage.

In other seasons, with a less congested fixture list, our match would have been postponed, or the internationals wouldn't have been held this week.

So if we drop points and don't go up, put it down to Covid - which was of course also the reason we got relegated. The gods of football really hate us - unless we beat Wednesday , in which case they don't.

Think we will fall behind in this one, but fight back to get a point, 1-1.

They might not risk Sarr and save him for Monday where we will probably need him more.

I wish I was as confident as some people on here. All I see is a lack of cohesion from a make-shift side due to the internationals and a Wednesday side fighting for their lives. If Sema and Sarr don't play I hope Pedro isn't pushed out to the left so that Gray can play. Kiko won't have the same understanding with whoever plays on the right wing and may find himself out of position when there are counter attacks. A mistake by Kabs with Rhodes about could give them the goal they need to defend. All our left backs could be in Morocco. Will Kiko play there or Wilmot?

Why is this game and loads of others on a Friday at 3pm just two days after international fixtures?

AB in a roll of the dice has made 7(!) changes including Wilmot starting. Will probably get sacked if England lose this. Will probably get sacked even if we win tbf.

I think it's got something to do with the Easter bunny. No match for Harry the Hornet.

Prediction: it will not be Wilmot.

I think given the injury issues and tactical decisions to be made, it's very likely that we will see Cleverley come back into his harrying, high-pressing attacking midfield mode to nullify (snicker) Bannan and the Zinck taking over from Sarr on the right wing for the day. As such, I doubt there's too much we have to worry from a lack of understanding, because Zincky understands more about what's going on in every single area of the pitch at any moment than any other player (besides Hughes).

Great, so Sema finally plays a full 90 minutes in a meaningless friendly for Sweden less than two days before this game.

How much did Swansea and Brentford pay the Swedish coach?

I think many of our selection issues are easily resolvable, especially if Sarr is fit but CB is a big issue. WTE, Cathcart and Wilmot all playing or only returning to the U.K. today (in WTE’s case), Kabasele may be fit but he hasn’t played yet following a medium-term injury. Hard to tell who’ll be fit to play alongside Sierralta but I guess the five subs allows us to take a little more risk. LB the other doubt with Masina playing yesterday - two lots of 90 mins - but we could always move Kiko across and play Ngakia.

Sweden playing Sema 90 mins in a friendly v Estonia two days before his club plays is indefensible.

Didn’t we try moving Kiko across and bringing in Ngakia before but it didn’t really work?

Not really. Those two played a fair amount in a back five under Ivic with Femenia LWB and Ngakia RWB. And we may have played Femenia RB and Ngakia LB in a back four.

That second goal was so typical of Watford in that era - making something happen from an apparently lost cause.
